That's what I'm saying. This "deep draft" in the middle rounds stuff is fan talk.
The likelihood of striking gold from the 4th - 7th round is really small.
It may make a team feel good to have lots of picks; but if they are mostly mid to low rounds, it's a placebo.
Aggregate those mid-late picks and find some sucker to take them off your hands for a vet player or for a 1st or 2nd round draft pick.
3 picks in the top 3 rounds has a far higher probability of finding solid to impact players than 6 or 7 low picks.
What good does it do to have 8 or 9 picks every year, and within 2 years 6 of them are cut or on the PS? It's a mirage.
