I think the signings have been smart and have addressed needs, therefore freeing us up a little bit in our draft strategy. But the difference, to me anyway, is who we let walk. Of course there's no way to know for sure, but I would imagine that if Fisher was still in charge we would have resigned some of those guys that were perpetual underachievers or just not good enough (Quick, Kendricks, Barnes, etc.), almost guaranteeing yet another sub .500 season.

Absolutely. Also, let's not forget that they immediately recognized that GRob should not be playing LT so they addressed that as well. I know they have yet to have a single practice under McVay, but so far I like what I'm seeing and I'm guardedly optimistic that we're going to see a better organized, prepared, and talented team this season.
