Re: I would target Butt in round 3

March 21, 2017 07:20AM
I don't like the idea of taking TE in round 2 when it's not a first year impact position and when we have some talent at the position entering year 2. But I do think that Jake Butt is undervalued, that he is going to be a better TE than many of these freak athlete types, plus of course he's the kind of TE that I personally prefer being the more conventional big target you can trust across the middle with just enough rumbling athleticism.

Round 2 for me is where I would be seeking an impact player. One of these guys with good round 1 value is going to slide in this draft, it's inevitable. Outside of RB they can consider pretty much whoever it is. If it's a CB, or FS, WR, whatever sitting there with markedly better value than the rest just stay true to your board and take him. If on the other hand they want to go with a position that is not the BPA, then drop down a bit, scoop a pick, and take a wideout with better value.

This draft should be about loading the best player on the board in each round. And I pray they find a center they like somewhere in there.
