My only objection to Watson is the same one that I had of RG3. It is that if you take the running part of his game away, it changes the specialness of his game altogether. He has an instinct and a desire and a talent to run the ball. He is not the same player when he can't run the ball. Yes, he is a good passer (so is RG3). But those 2 elements of running and passing seem to play off of each other.
I'm certainly not claiming that Watson can't be an NFL QB. I'm saying that his running is about REAL running, not scrambling. And no NFL QB can be part of the running game and survive (even the huge Cam Newton had to learn that). And the less Cam runs, the less effective his overall passing game and ability to lead his team to victory seems to become.
I can't really explain why that is. But just like I can't explain why bad things happen to good people, so it seems to be that talented runners who try to play QB never quite live up to the expectation.
Just my opinion.
