With Adderall there is a critical threshold (that is fairly low) where it starts having the reverse effect of what it's prescribed for.
If he were taking high doses he'd have reduced concentration, increased anxiety, inability to sleep and it would be obvious.
Yes your body can adapt to take more, but with amphetamine salts the effect it has shifts.
I *think* 40mg is the highest almost any doctor will prescribe and it would take a long time to become a true addict on that dose.
If he's taking high doses then he's buying a controlled drug (just like morphine) illegally, so there's another issue to be taken into account.
There is nothing either good or bad, but thinking makes it so.
