I have to admit I am concerned with Gurley, because there seemed to be a change in his demeanor with the press from early on this season. But that said we've cut bait on a RB before due to the line being bad with Bettis and there's no way I'd go down that road again.
So IMO the priority needs to be OL and WR on the offensive side of the ball.
OL won't be totally fixed next year due to LT, as usually those guys don't hit the market and to get them in the draft you typically need to be picking round one. But they can address Center midround in the draft typically. They can add a vet OG and another in the draft if they feel it is necessary. And from there give the new regime some hope in getting all the pieces working together as one line.
WR is the other position I'd focus hard. I'd go after Alshon Jeffery, first off, and I know everyone might not like that idea but with a good offensive coach and a strong offer we should be in the mix. Then I'd draft one of those wideouts who drop out of round one every year if one is there I like, and barring that I'd trade down and maneuver as needed to ensure I get a guy I like to add to this group.
If a RB value is there at any point in the draft after round two and it's significant, then sure, draft him. But I think OL in particular will give us by far the most return of all the picks. It has been holding this team back long enough.
Defensively we need a pass rusher addition badly. But I'd put that behind CB, and depending on scheme probably behind LB. So yeah this team needs work but I do think if they get the line right and have a regime in here that brings an edge in offensive gameplanning then Gurley will be just fine.
