Not a surprise, either, tbh. The dude doesn't measure up to the press and hoopla he gets for his opinions.
The reality is working under a patient owner who does not meddle, in a massive market, with the organization built around you is going to be far more attractive than what the Jags or just about any other position can offer. And the Jags' QB situation is better? Yeah, ok Charlie. We'll see how much you know when it becomes clear how many of these guys have gotten in line for this job.
Right now they're probably exhausting the big names. I'm sure they've gotten the "no" from Harbaugh. What I'm hearing from Gruden is not a "no" it's more of a deflection tbh, so they're probably talking with him about what they're looking for and rough compensation to see if things will go further. Payton I am sure his agent has been contacted, not to mention the Saints, whether that bears any fruit comes down to the Saints since I am sure Sean's daughter going to school in SoCal is the cherry on top.
I'm starting to wonder if they'll even get to the coordinator types tbh. That's how coveted this job is IMO.
