I do think it was more about the play call than anything. I just don't like pulling a guard when you're two feet away. But I get that maybe Gurley missed the read.
But one reason I think I would have kicked it was the time on the clock. Part of why you go for it there is that if you don't make it you can still come out ahead by having the opponent pinned inside his 1-yard line. You have the opportunity for a safety, to get the ball back in great field position, etc. So the odds of the decision being worth it are higher. On the last play of the half that part of it is gone.
