I believe the thought is Jared can come in make certain passes like the deep throws more accurately than Case has. With his arm and size that he can attack with throws in the middle of the field 10 to 20 yards so the receiver isn't going to get creamed.

But being a rookie he may bring a new set of problems with him like zn has pointed out. If he misses blitz and coverage reads or doesn't know to audible out of a bad play....etc.
