Re: POLL: How many rushing yards will Gurley have this season?

100% of the eight responses 1,400+.

Half of those (the largest group) project more than 1,600.

Pretty optimistic.*

BTW, last year Gurley was compared to Bell as one of the best backs in the league. Peterson getting up there in years. David Johnson is a very impressive and a freak, one of the most explosive and best receiving backs in the league and an outstanding pure runner. Elliot very Gurley like as one of the highest touted prospects at his position in the past decade (probably higher graded in the passing game, receiving and in pass pro), since Peterson.

With Bell's second straight boneheaded suspension, Peterson's age and Elliot still relatively untested, if we polled the 32 GMs, I'd have to think Gurley would be the dominant choice if they had to pick one back to build around.

* Peterson came close, but nobody reached 1,500 yards in 2015. DeMarco Murray with 1,800+ in 2014, nobody else had even 1,400. McCoy had 1,600+ in 2013, nobody else had 1,400. 2012 was an exception, Peterson was 3 yards shy of 2,000, Morris had 1,600, Lynch and Charles had 1,500+, Martin and Foster 1,400+. 2011 (going back a half decade), MJD had 1,600, nobody else had 1,400.
