A run of the mill low ankle sprain can be a pretty short term injury. I mean, you FEEL it for a few weeks, but with a decent training staff, one can play pretty well.
I had some routine ankle sprains playing in HS and for a small college team. Our training staffs were light years short of what an NFL staff can do for a player. And I never missed a game.
If it's that sort of sprain, RW MAY lose a quarter of a step. But I doubt it would be enough to make much difference.
