Those are the two guys I think we should be targeting. Clinton-Dix is quite good vs the pass and Amos has been good of late after a rough start. Both are young with plenty of room for growth and would pair nicely with JJ.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
I agree defense is the priority and also that it's likely that side of the ball will have the BPA when we're up. But if that BPA is OL or TE... I have to say I'd expect the Rams to go with it. All I really care about is getting the best player who slips to us. Get an impact performer with that round 1 pick.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
We aren't good enough at TE for 12 personnel to compete with 11. So yeah, gonna be interesting in the first round if a good one's staring at us at 31.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
He had his huge sack season in 2014. Then got paid. Then mediocre. I wouldn't touch that dude, as I doubt he's going to be a FA who lives up to whatever he signs.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
of what they think about Okowrongkwo, because all they're going to know about him is his medical side of things plus the guy they scouted last year. What this defense is lacking is a true blindside rusher off the edge. Left side will be fine with some combination of Ebukam and Okowrongkwo holding things down. It's the blindside addition that will put this defense over the top.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
He's a fit for our offense, and if TG plays say half the snaps they work well off each other with different styles, so I think the Rams get it done.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Are going to be the TE and interior OL spots. The TE position looks to have 3 options there for us at our late first round selection. How many interior OL do you see slotting into that group/range?by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Is $16M. This is why I have to think a restructuring/extension type deal is done to lessen it and keep him around until that retirement date.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
TE position factored in prominently for him in Washington, when that was what he had. The WCO also historically is very involved in TE usage in the passing game. We have solid TEs right now. But McVay isn't Jeff Fisher, IMO he's not the kind of guy to rest on his laurels. If an opportunity presents itself to add a good vet TE or a top TE prospect in the draft he'll go for it.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Was back in their Falcons days under Reeves. That defense struggled in the conversion to the 3-4 and Wade took the reigns after Reeves was fired. Here's Johnson's quote from an NFL.com story, and every time I see it I think how different he sounds from Wade (who hasn't ever seemed to be as focused on the size part of the equation): "You've got to have the personnel to make it work,"by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
If he's going to chase the biggest contract, which is common for a first time FA, Rams won't be willing to go there. But if he's willing to stick around under a shorter term deal with lower base and some incentives I think he's in play. I think it's unlikely but he might decide to stick with this staff and round out his game for a big payday a couple years out. Mentally though like most I'veby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Not all of that was his fault, either, with Talib being out for 8 games and Peters taking forever to know what he was doing. But with coaches I do think their unit production is important when being looked at for other jobs and I suspect the Rams aren't overall thrilled with the DBs either. Joyner's dropoff was concerning as well btw.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
He fits what we do quite well, and he can play either Center or Guard. I think he'll be around this year at least what with his $2M cap hit too. Rams might even extend him this offseason, for that matter, if they can get a number they like. They could still upgrade on the interior through the draft, especially if they can't get Saff signed. But they might just be looking at depth to continuby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Anyone who doesn't see that simply doesn't want to.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Knows the staff and scheme, instantly fits in the locker room. He's shown some growth and taken coaching, smart guy with some ability seems like a solid backup type option for us.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
We run the old Shanahan/Denver run blocking scheme that favors mobile guys who can stay on their feet and get angles quickly on their targets, and it allows for smaller OL who can be had outside of early rounds. Brown's a solid lineman, he has some mobility, but he's not ideal for what we do IMO. He isn't a technician type OL with quick hands, he's not great in pass pro, etc. He's a good kidby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
He's a competitor, and used to being a big reason why we win. He made some great pickups on the rush, but yeah that isn't enough for him. Agree he's upset and is going to come out with everything in the next game. Oh and the game being in his Georgia back yard helps too. :thumbsupby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Because if the Rams get that run game going Goff will absolutely shred their secondary. Belichick has zero choice but to focus on the run game first then adjust from there. So IMO look for McVay to involve Gurley in a lot of underneath routes and screen actions early on to try to scheme him open in space. I also expect him to repurpose that dual screen the Saints ran against us in the NFC chby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Whatever you say Jerry Jones. :thumbsupby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
The loss of Kupp was profound for Jared Goff. Since he went down there is only one game where Goff looked good and that's the KC matchup where I don't think the defensive gameplan fully accounted for the difference of Kupp being out. Every game thereafter our young QB just hasn't been the guy he was early this season. So with the stretch of tough defenses we faced I don't think McVay had a cby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
That we get better safety play too in the next game if it happens. Talib seems to settle Joyner down a LOT as well. :thumbsupby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
We didn't have Talib. We gave them a good game in their house with a secondary that was out of synch and had no answer for their top weapon. I agree we can beat them in New Orleans. Let's get that big W vs Dallas first though.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
After so much losing being here in the divisional round is something I'm not going to take for granted. Going to enjoy every minute of it even if we come up short. :thumbsupby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Rich Hammond tweeted that the prices start at $325. Lotta Cowboy fans will be there, it's just gonna cost them so here's hoping they spend a fortune and go home losers.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
There were four drives. Two of them he single-handedly stopped. A third he contributed key plays on getting them stopped. Not to mention him affecting the 9ers gameplan by forcing their QB to try to get the ball out fast enough to prevent him from getting his record, which resulted in a turnover-ridden early part of the game. His impact is profound, I mean look at the Rams' record when he's bby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
It goes back to that first year and all the media idiocy in laying judgment on him right out the gate in a terrible situation. If you look at the first three years of ONLY the HoF level QBs, Jared Goff statistically is better than many of them already. Some of them didn't play in year one, most others didn't have a year of over 100 rating until much later than that window. Payton Manning forby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Kid is on his way to great things and has an opportunity to start his playoff legacy. There will come a day when a LOT of Rams fans wish they would have just relaxed and enjoyed an elite QB in his formative years.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Certainly along the interior. Allen is going to be pushing for that center position in camp next year, and has looked good when he's been in there. I think the reason he's not challenging Sully yet is the expertise with which Sully makes those line calls but on the physicality side of things Allen's a brawler. Boom is certainly capable as a backup OG. Only non-replaceable dude on the OL isby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
If the Rams can't get by the Cards & 9ers without TG they probably aren't going to go too far in the playoffs regardless of seeding. Their hopes from here on out are more related to defensive consistency than anything else. If the defense can make the required strides we'll win those two games and go into the playoffs with a healthy Gurley. If not, I still wouldn't want to risk our starby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Is different than the team they could have been with Kupp on the field. They can still win it all IF they do two things: 1. Get the defense on track. There are a lot of holes in the roster that opponents are taking advantage of. Defensively they need to improve the run defense (play of Barron's ILB position and Suh's NT position), and fix their secondary's inability to be on the same page (by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
