Heh, well there's no way there's 5 Edges you would take at 19, so figured you had some players from previous years. Montez Sweat was the first one I figured out. It was the 4.41 40. No 1st/2nd round DE ran that fast for a while. I remember commentary around Byron Young getting close last year. Problem with Sweat's combine was the Bench Press.. so 4.41 with the 21 BP was the give away.by h2omelonhead - RamsFootballFans.com

I'm a fan of finding a QB in Day 3 that becomes your #1 QB and performs like an all star or the GOAT. Set up to build around that player while their salary is low. Ala, Brady, Wilson, Purdy. Spending Day 1 capital on a future QB while you have a solid #1.. not a fan of the Green Bay methodology. Either way can boom or bust...but less impact for day 3 if you bust Finding that player:by h2omelonhead - RamsFootballFans.com
I wrote this before, but not a big fan of Sweat. Physically he's a monster, but I'm not there on where his head is at. If the NFL gives him the needed environment to be a football professional and dedicate his time to physically train his body, conditioning and mind... then he'd be a gold mine. But he was at Texas, probably one step below an NFL environment and for me, the light bulb wby h2omelonhead - RamsFootballFans.com

If Murphy had Newton's motor, he's a top 5 pick. Murphy to me is more explosive in the first 2 seconds. After that, then no :) Need to know what is in Murphy's head. That's the question mark for me. Because he doesn't play through the entire play even with limited time on the field. I also can't remember the last time he stayed in the lane to bat down the ball. Sometimes he's too exploby h2omelonhead - RamsFootballFans.com
We know Newton has a motor. He's still running/chasing after 5 consecutive snaps. Murphy is jogging on screens and pursuits after 3 consecutive snaps and then is subbed out. The output Murphy has in the limited snaps is super high though. So this suggests more of an impact player. A question is, can you stretch that impact over more consecutive snaps. Especially in the NFL where 2 minute dby h2omelonhead - RamsFootballFans.com
Murphy probably is the best talent however what concerns me are - whether or not he would have the same impact playing more snaps - his motor (or lack thereof) in pursuit - his recognition of screens Texas rotates so much.. basically has line shifts that he's rarely in the game for more than 4 snaps in a row. Sweat to me wasn't as relevant as one reason that helped Murphy. Against beby h2omelonhead - RamsFootballFans.com

Quotealyoshamucci 4. Seahawks cannot use a TE to save their lives. . For sure. Russell Wilson doesn't know how to throw to a TE. Had Jimmy Graham and didn't know how to get him the ball. They schemed for him, but Russell would quickly look away. Not a system guy. With Geno.. early on Geno would go to his safety valve, but he's looking more downfield now and not checking down. For sure.. I wrote this in another thread. He was the #3 TE for Seahawks behind Dissley and Fant. Team player. Blocking comes first. Utilized in Special Teams too at the end of the line. Big Big dude. Thought he was underutilized in Seattle. But they had a decent TE group. His attitude will fit well. I had him more as a Shanahan type TE. But hey, looks like McVay is building somby h2omelonhead - RamsFootballFans.com
Gotta remember that he was like the 3rd string TE. Seahawks had Dissley and Fant ahead of Parkinson. Parkinson can be a utility guy. For Special Teams, he blocks the edge. On Offense, you utilize him for blocking and then sneak him out. He actually holds the edge decently for a TE. Not to say you want to leave him 1:1 on an Edge all the time, but he's not like a dead TE. This is whyby h2omelonhead - RamsFootballFans.com

I didn't say I would be jumping for joy. Just said I wouldn't mind. It all depends on who is sitting there at 19.. we don't know. Glad someone did this video I remember watching this game and thought Fuaga came out on top as well. Latu's hands are elite for a college player. Really knows what to look for. He's missing some of the final touches with his hands at the college level. Like, when he's ripping through, he has an opportunity to shuck Fuaga. So, it's not maybe his hands, but his fingers that are the finalby h2omelonhead - RamsFootballFans.com

agree. Rams track record on getting good secondary in the mid/late rounds isn't that great. If Quinyon is there, then take him. Don't trade down and get cute thinking you can get a diamond in the rough corner later.by h2omelonhead - RamsFootballFans.com
If somehow Brock Bowers drops down to 19, I'd be unhappy to. Game changing TE for somebody in my opinion. With Higbee injured and top teams having dynamic TEs, I'd like the Rams to take him if for some reason he's still available (I don't think he will be).by h2omelonhead - RamsFootballFans.com

Using the college game as this is the "closest" you can get with the NFL playoff rules. Premise is whether getting the ball second or choosing "defense first" results in more victories. The answer so far seems to be no. Scroll down to Table 2 and Table 3. Nah, there is some logic to what Shanahan was thinking. Most people may disagree, but let's say things turned out different and played out exactly how Shanahan thought. Then, the narrative here would be different. People may think.. huh, maybe it is okay to take the ball first in OT. The simple premise was... both teams were matching points. Interesting how Shanahan talked about Wilks not being a good fit from a scheme standpoint. Sort of like McVay asking Morris to run Staley's defense. If you know after each team gets a possession that the OT will still be tied, then you would want the ball first on the next possession. Because next score wins. This is akin to calling to receive in the old overtime rules where 1st team to score wins. No sample size. People comparing this to college isn't right. Because in college, you go back and forth on possessions after it's tied up. In the NFL, both teams get possession of the ball once. Then after that, it's the first team that scores. Shanny mentioned this after the game that their analytics told them that there are high odds that the first possession would end in a tie. No, read up on overtime rules for postseason including Super Bowl. Each team is guaranteed a possession. If the first 15minutes run out, they go into the "2nd quarter" and the clock starts again.
