I wish, but Brady is getting the ball out much faster this year at least in the games I've seen. For me, it is noticeable and the advance stats back it up. His average yards in the air per completion is around 5. That's the lowest it has been for him. What's worse is that Stafford this year is worse than that. Stafford's average yards in the air per completion is in the 4's... I'm guessingby h2omelonhead - RamsFootballFans.com
Alot that I agree with Cody on. Sort of iffy on his coverage issue. It's more around how offenses have adapted to the Rams and why Russell Wilson always does poorly against the Rams. Rams are #1 in the league in depth of coverage for defense at 5.5 yards. That is an outlier in any season. League average is usually around 8 with a tight distribution around that number. Don't see teams goby h2omelonhead - RamsFootballFans.com
Absolutely.. the D is not "perfect".. but Rams would see more incremental improvement if changes are made on the Offensive side vs Defensive side. When you basically score like 16 points a game.. you can't expect to win games. People need to focus on what is needed to change the offense to get improvement there vs spending more energy on what to fix on the defensive side. If theby h2omelonhead - RamsFootballFans.com

Nope, it's still an offensive issue. Offense is built to score TDs. Defense is built to hold people to FGs Simple math. People looking for defenses to consistently shut out opponents is in the wrong era of football. Scoring donuts in quarters.. like scoring zero points in the second half is not a recipe for winning.by h2omelonhead - RamsFootballFans.com
Quotesstrams second regular season game last year.. and it all unraveled for us after halftime.. Offense scored zero points in the third quarter and 7 in the 4th. Offense can't stop scoring. You have the lead, you continue to put pressure by scoring. Not leaving it up to the defense to get stops while offense does nothing but nurse a lead. KC didn't stop.. they just kept on going. That'by h2omelonhead - RamsFootballFans.com
Against one of the top defenses in the league. Your offense scores TDs, the other team scores FGs. Time of possession differential.. who cares. Rams lose to the 49ers year after year because Rams offense can't get it going. Jimmy G needs to have the pressure of being behind.. then it all unravels for the Niners.by h2omelonhead - RamsFootballFans.com
Brady's internal clock seems to be running fast. The ball is coming out of his hands faster than usual it seems. Even if he's not under pressure.by h2omelonhead - RamsFootballFans.com
Maybe loud for Rams fans standards, but not really loud compared to some of the noisiest stadiums in the NFLby h2omelonhead - RamsFootballFans.com
This is how McVay handled Goff. Have the ball with 2 min left. Stafford almost throws another pick 6. So McVay is giving up on trying to score before half and runs 2 straight running plays. He's lost it.by h2omelonhead - Game Time Forum
QuoteClassicalwit I don't understand. The head coach just said that the defense needs to get more turnovers. Is he making that up? He's saying that because he knows his offense is bad. HC speak to say, don't blame me.by h2omelonhead - Game Time Forum
Need to generate more than a 2 TD lead since Stafford will throw a pick 6by h2omelonhead - Game Time Forum
Exactly how you use him. Stafford gotta trust he'll get the jump ball.by h2omelonhead - Game Time Forum
QuoteClassicalwit Sure, that would help. But there was a long stretch after the two turnovers where the game hung in the balance, and the Rams may have had a better chance of the defense had taken the ball away. I think takeaways are often a major factor in determining wins and losses. There's a long stretch of nothing happening by the offense. We don't get into these stretches if the offenby h2omelonhead - RamsFootballFans.com
McVay needs to change the game plan. He'll now have time given that he knows what he has now. If he doesn't adjust, then the team should protect Stafford. Stafford won't leave the game.. and will continue to take these hits until he's medically unable to play. This is why I said Wolford should have been in for a series or two. If the coaching staff wants to play that way, then they'll neby h2omelonhead - RamsFootballFans.com
I'm on McVay's a$$, not the players.by h2omelonhead - Game Time Forum
Sorry, now you are definitely watching a completely different game. With this many empty possessions that the Rams defense produced... the offense should be converting and scoring. Defense is not the issue in this game.by h2omelonhead - Game Time Forum
Stafford is a gamer.. he won't sit. But at this rate, he'll be forced to sit due to injury. Backups should have been put in for a series or two.. until McVay figure out his play calling. Putting Stafford to work McVay things out, when clearly Stafford wasn't comfortable was short sighted. This is one game against a really good defense where the game plan went to the crappers along time ago.by h2omelonhead - Game Time Forum
QuoteGuard watching the one where you don't replace a starting Super Bowl winning QB with a career 3rd string backup, just because we have a sieve of an O-Line and no running game. So we obviously see both Stafford's ability and Wolford's ability vastly different. No probs.... I see the flow of the game.. and the way it was being called on both sides of the ball as well as the way Stafforby h2omelonhead - Game Time Forum
QuoteGuard it's like we're watching an entirely different game than some other folks. I dunno... What game are you watching?by h2omelonhead - Game Time Forum
I'd trade FGs for TDs... just need an offense to score TDs.by h2omelonhead - Game Time Forum
And people will blame the Defense, when the offense can't score.by h2omelonhead - Game Time Forum
QB scrambles will get yards. Need to move the pocket. Stafford is just a sitting duck.by h2omelonhead - Game Time Forum
Bring in Wolford for a few series to change the pace and get some first downs with some QB runs.by h2omelonhead - Game Time Forum
we need the offense to do something positive. All these 3 and outs are not goodby h2omelonhead - Game Time Forum
yeah, that's what I don't understand about that next gen stat. don't know when they consider separation as well... after the top of the route? during the route? Also, if you are small guy like Tutu... his catch radius is so much smaller and won't be able to use his body to shield defenders... so you would require him to be at the top of the WR list for separation. If you are big bodied liby h2omelonhead - RamsFootballFans.com
Can he play guard and block well? Stafford isn't comfortable in the pocket. If McCutcheon and block Parsons and give Stafford time, then for sure, start him. But trolling out another receiver isn't going to help Stafford.by h2omelonhead - RamsFootballFans.com
even worse than I thought #14 runs a horrible route, Russell never comes off him. Option #1 was the rub and he just said, eff the play.by h2omelonhead - RamsFootballFans.com
This is classic Russell Wilson. This play has 2 man beaters... one at the top and then 1:1 at the bottom. Russell is focused on the bottom receiver, most likely because he sees 1:1 and then he thinks the Safety is going to help on the outside receiver who is going to swing in with the help of a rub route. However, this is why Russell is overrated. He doesn't think that he can look offby h2omelonhead - RamsFootballFans.com
2-3 yards is alot of separation in the NFL. NFL QBs don't need 2-3 yards of separation... especially good ones. Think about how long 2-3 yards is. If he's running a quick slant and he's at the 30 and the defender is at the 28.. he's open. Usually defenders are draped over a receiver on a quick slant.. less than half a yard.by h2omelonhead - RamsFootballFans.com
