First of all let me say thank you for going to all the trouble to remember and collect some of the major debates we've had here on the board. You put in some good degree of effort to summarize them and write about them fairly and accurately. It made for an excellent and enjoyable read. Thank you. I agree with everything you wrote and in most examples I felt similar to how you felt. The Lomby Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com

QuoteRams43 Perhaps the more useful question would be how do these hacks, who claim to be reporters, find work? 61. The Tackle set the bar too high. No one should ever expect anything in depth, insightful, or wise, from today's journalists. Of course once in a while you do find that but that is the exception not the rule. I've said the same thing. He should be more comfortable with his new home, new environment, new coaches, new teammates, new stadium, new rivalries. He should be less prone to having to be "superman" to save the day. Now he knows he has a strong supporting cast that has his back. I don't understand the dynamic value of what these various assistant coaches bring to the table. But I wonder, "If they were worth it, why don't the Rams offer to pay them more?" Now I understand that it's more than just money; guys want to make a name for themselves, become SB winning HCs, etc, but money also talks and talks loudly depending in the amt. Each day has a nice new sweetness about it. Those games were so stressful. I'd prefer we blow them out by 50 points in the 1st quarter. But I know that many of my friends in Detroit and elsewhere are thinking about how good I am feeling.by Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Thank you especially to Alyo who took the time for such a nice detailed response. At this point I believe the Rams' future looks very good. Get a couple of not-impossible-to-procure pieces and we're set to make a solid SB run.by Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
I know Whit is retiring. I figure Hekker is done. I believe fully that Stafford is going to be better next year because he's had adequate time to get familiar with all things new for this season. If he stays in LA I believe fully that Morris's defense is going to be better next year. I believe fully that McVay is going to be a better HC because he's proven that he can learn, adapt, and changeby Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
I have a very low opinion of journalists but I understand that they need hits to survive. Titles are click bait. Blueprints don't fail, people do. Plans may be inadequate but that's because the planner failed. I cannot imagine any NFL coach not having a game plan in which it's understood that he'll have to adapt, i.e., change his game plan. Yeah, Skow has several opportunities to shine and he didn't do great. Kinda like that other WR we lost, Reynolds? Even though he's a rookie he looked mediocre. I expected better. I'd let him go and find another good but cheap 3rd/4th WR. I don't think he's got what it takes. Maybe I'm wrong.by Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Yeah, that would be a cheesy thing to do, but in this day and age, look at how many chase the money. I would not blame mgt. if they did that. "It's not personal, it's just business." LOL.by Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com

I'm not too familiar with how bad this injury is, how long it takes to recuperate, and how it affects a player's ability. I saw a post that mentioned he might miss the entire next season! That's shocking to me. Am I correct in believing that OBJ is also a free agent now? So if the injury is bad and a safe assumption is that he'll much of next season, would the Rams be wise to say "goby Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com

I love the Eric Weddle story, it reminds me a little of Kurt Warner's. A retired guy who hasn't played FB for two years is playing pickup basketball. He gets a phone call, rejoins his team because, "why the hell not!?", and a month later wears a ring. What a happy ending. For some reason I'm delighted for him. Rambro I agree with all of your points and that is why I thought firing would have been too drastic. I was very disappointed that we weren't at the defense level prior but adjustments take time. When a company brings in a new manager it often takes easily a year for him and his dept. to get in sync. For my part I was disappointed in Morris early on as our defense was not as great as the previous year. It was a fair expectation to be close to where we were last season. I was down on him but didn't want to see him fired as a few other guys felt. OTOH, they were venting their frustration and that is understandable. But firing would have been too drastic a move. In my opinion losing coaches is a big deal but we're still on top. I wonder how big of a deal it really is losing coaches. Our team has been a fast subway transit for coaches of all stripes yet we continue to win. I know in a competitive business environment losing experienced and proven personnel costs much more than their salary. My observations match 43's. Lot's of people were disappointed with Morris' defense early on. But he changed something, or something changed, and his defense became a Ram's mainstay. I don't see any spin here at all. This isn't a case of all or nothing. Good coaches do learn and change. Morris was never "all bad" nor was he always "all great." On the "Speak for yourself" show Acho said that McVay is the most brilliant guy in the NFL because he's traded draft capital to obtain highly skilled and proven players, and he's had great success.
