DK Metcalf is Jamar Chase-lite and I think McVay passed up on drafting him, right? It's kinda like the RB position. Unless he inherits a Todd Gurley, McVay's preference seems to be the 5'09", 190-lb types. As for WR, it's pretty clear that McVay values two primary clones along with one WR who can take the top off. OBJ kinda fell into his lap in 2021 when the Rams hit their typical Nby ramBRO - RamsFootballFans.com
Quoteroman18 <snipped> If they continue on a losing steak how does that help in further development of these young 2nd year guys as well rookies? Losing games means that poor play is taking place, poor scheme is being chosen, poor execution is being done.....IMO losing stunts growth. Obviously, everyone wants to win...and win now. QuoteRampage2K- <snipped> I'm one of the most optimistic fans on the board, but today was a turning point....it is time to start thinking about drafting the successor to Matthew and winning this year at this point won't do us any favors.... Don't feel so bad. The organization has felt the same way since the end of last season - thus "the purge" primarily on the defensiby ramBRO - RamsFootballFans.com
Quotealyoshamucci <snipped> 16) Official retraction apology ... I had not been able to find a specific log of Penix's injuries and missed by a lot. 1 ACL, 1 AC joint, another ACL, another AC joint ... 4 seasons ended in injury before the last two years he's been healthy. How many boards is he not even on? How far could he slide at 24 years old with that history? He throws a great baby ramBRO - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteRamgator Does anyone recall what Steve Young accomplished in Tampa ? Me neither! Steve Young played in Tampa? I don't remember that. All I remember pre-Niner was the LA Express. But to address what I think is your real question... 1) Provided that the Rams extend Kevin Dotson, I think that they are well on their way to solidifying their OL. Yes, they need a center and LT. QuoteStafford9 I am a huge USC honk and Caleb Williams would guarantee McVay stays for 10 more years True, but I'm having trouble envisioning how we get in position to draft CW with Arizona, Chicago, and New England in front of us. Do you think that 'Zona is gonna allow Murray to play this year? I don't. If we decline to board the flight to Arizona, do we forfeit the game?by ramBRO - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteSpeed_Kills <snipped> Anyone thinking this team will be back in 24 is absolutely fooling themselves You'll have to define what you mean by being "back." If we can acquire more draft ammo in the off-season (via AD/Stafford/Kupp trades) and get a couple of solid FA's (e.g. CB), then I think that we can start to knock on that Wild Card door. Super Bowl? Not so mucby ramBRO - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteRamgator Stafford....Kupp....A.D. Maybe Puka?? I'd sit AD right now as he's already shown that he has some juice left in the tank. A contender should offer up at least a 2nd rounder for him. Stafford still needs a couple of good games under his belt for a team who's "a QB away" to feel comfortable parting with a 3rd for him. Same with Kupp. According to Tank-a-thon, tby ramBRO - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteRamsdude He went flying through the air while his man came in free and made the tackle in the backfield! lol He also had another dropped pass he should have caught. He is having a bad year. Extending him might have been a mistake. (LOL!) @ "might." Still scratchin' my head over his extension. I mean...why extend him (a player clearly close to the end) and not Matt Gay?by ramBRO - RamsFootballFans.com
In addition to Young, I think Kobi Turner is playing well as well. I think Avila has played better than he showed today, but rookies are gonna be inconsistent with their play. As opposed to Noteboom (who I don't think is long for this team), I'd sure like to see some McClendon if he's the heir-apparent at RT.by ramBRO - RamsFootballFans.com
Just to be clear... Cowher didn't say anything about Caleb Williams or 1st round picks Carolina may (or may not) have. He simply said that, if Bryce Young doesn't demonstrate an ability to reduce his TO's (he had a Pick-6 in the 1st half), then he didn't think that Carolina would pass up drafting another highly-rated QB (which, in theory, could be in the 2nd round). QuoteBigGame81 Need Carolina to keep losing games and get the #1 pick. And then we need to be successful at a trade up. I'm going to assume they are content with Bryce Young, although the wise play would be to still take Caleb. Otherwise teams like Arizona, Chicago, etc will stay and take him. QuoteRamgator Caleb has not won JACK SQUAT OUTSIDE of Pac 12 games with next to no help on Defense. Just WTF is he gonna win in the NFL??????? Like I said....The Niners are NOT bringing DUCKS to sack him! LOOK....I say again......I am NOT slamming Caleb the man or even the QB. But till McVay gets SERIOUS about an O line and MAINTAINING a Run game, the odds are stacked against Caleb sustaininby ramBRO - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteBigGame81 <snipped> And today, we can't even blame Kendrick. Honestly, what are your expectations of a bunch of young, late-round players sandwiching Aaron Donald? I mean...did you see Russ Yeast in perfect position to make a play and find a way not to make it? This is what these types of players do. QuoteRamgator Till then.... Lets hope he doesn't see Notre Dame again, eh?? Nah...ND got beat by a WEAK Clemson team. NEITHER are NCAA Playoff bound. I say again...Caleb IS a good QB. But the brakes need to be pumped a time or two. (LOL!) Caleb Williams leads his offense to 45 points against the 5th ranked team in the nation. His defense gives up 52 (which he doesn't play). Quote21Dog <snipped> The all caps are a nice touch of outrage. (LOL!) I put them in bold to show that I'm really outraged. But just wait...someone will try to pin this L on the defense. 1) His defense allowed 10 points on drives where the Packers got the ball after a punt. 2) Compounding this, his defense gave up another 10 points after two Rypien TO's. UNACCEPTABLE! 3) Although the defense got two TO's from the Pack, Morris' defenders failed to return those TO's to the house! Those inexcusable errors cost us a potential 14 points! 4) The Packers ran and passed the ballby ramBRO - RamsFootballFans.com
He's only been with the Vikings since Wednesday, but has managed to get his squad a W on the road - as a back-up. Meanwhile, this Rypien guy (who's been with us since training camp and had a full week of 1st team reps), can only get us 3 points?!?!by ramBRO - RamsFootballFans.com

It's crazy to see people counting on young 5th, 6th, and 7th rounders to make plays on a consistent basis (well, at least those that don't help the opposition).by ramBRO - Game Time Forum
Had he coached Michael Hoecht to get to Love quicker, he could've had a strip sack. Instead, he let Love throw the ball away and forced GB to punt...which led directly to Rypien's INT.by ramBRO - Game Time Forum
He clearly needs to do a much better job at getting his defenders to make housecalls once they create turnovers. Enough with letting your momentum carry you out of bounds and being tackled by linemen!by ramBRO - Game Time Forum
