How about George Allen, Chuck Knox, Dick Vermeil and Sean McVay?by Great Bordeni - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteAlbaNY_Ram Blanda died in 2010 and Stabler died in 2015. I assumed the Raiders photoshopped their photo and I was definitely thinking the Rams would photoshop that DL photo!! I think they just took it a long time ago. But the Rams could try photoshop. We could put Van Brocklin in with Warner that way.by Great Bordeni - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteAlbaNY_Ram I would do another 2 for the lines. DL: Donald, Youngblood, Deacon, Merlin OL: Slater, Pace, Mack, Harrah Love the OL you picked. Great DL, best ever, in fact, but two of those guys are gone.by Great Bordeni - RamsFootballFans.com
I mean, we don't have four iconic quarterbacks. Would you go Dickerson, Faulk, Jackson, Bryant? So many of the old school guys are gone. Heck, all four of these Raiders might be passed. Would you dare go Ferragamo, Everett, Warner, Goff?by Great Bordeni - RamsFootballFans.com
I was working for the Panthers at the time. All I could think was "why did it have to be Steve Smith?" He's the biggest @#$%& in team history.by Great Bordeni - RamsFootballFans.com
I was in the family car on a long trip home. They kept giving the scores...Dallas 7, Los Angeles 0. Dallas 14, Los Angeles 0. Dallas 21....you get the idea. I kept thinking the guy on the radio must be wrong. Or that he had it backwards.by Great Bordeni - RamsFootballFans.com
When I was growing up it was tough being a Rams fan. Tough because it hurts a lot more to go into the playoffs thinking you have a good chance only to lose than it does to finish out of the playoffs. For 13 years we rell into the latter category. The first playoff loss I really remember was the 1974 NFC championship game at Minnesota. Tommy Bell called seven holding penalties on us that day, andby Great Bordeni - RamsFootballFans.com
That's the first time I've seen it since that day. A friend of mine called me right after that play and asked me how I could pull for a team with him at quarterback. Saw a fellow Ram fan out at a bar about five years later (Rams fans are rare in Kentucky) and he said he almost quit following the team because Everett was the biggest QB in the League. Even John Madden said "Oh man, you gotta bby Great Bordeni - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteRamgator The game was long over. Everett and the Rams were emotionally beat after a HELLUVA run vs some VERY good teams. And yes....ME TOO..... Seeing Lott deflect that pass is not too far behind Rod Perry juuuuuuuuuuust missing a deflection in SB 14. That sack......In fact, especially in the early 90s, pissed me off that so many Rams fans talked about such a useless play after so much grby Great Bordeni - RamsFootballFans.com
That play haunts me more than the phantom sack by Everettby Great Bordeni - RamsFootballFans.com
If you took the best six Rams teams in your fan lifetime and seeded them 1-6, who would they be and how would those playoffs unfold? Mine would look like this... 1. 1999...Has to be. Only Super Bowl champs. 2. 2001...Probably better than 1999, just had wrong coach 3. 2018...If only McVay had more seasoning 4. 1978...Haden, the one thing that kept us from three SB titles 5. 1973...Two losseby Great Bordeni - RamsFootballFans.com
1987 Started out terrible. Dickerson demanded a trade and got it. Team went on a run and almost made the playoffs. 48-0 loss to the 49ers in the finale left a bad taste, but the future looked bright with all the picks we had on hand from the Dickerson trade.by Great Bordeni - RamsFootballFans.com
For me, Bruce's TD and Jones' tackle are 1 and 1A. Proehl's touchdown is 3, Flipper and Waddy tied for fourth. Have to put touchdowns over field goals.by Great Bordeni - RamsFootballFans.com
Obviously, this is tougher to predict than any other year. But here's mine. 1. Saints....last go-round for Brees. I think the team rallies around him for the way he handled himself post-interview. 2. Cowboys....whereas this is the team where everythingn could go the other way. But they have the most talent. 3. Bucs....they're loaded, and they have the right coach to get them over the hump.by Great Bordeni - RamsFootballFans.com
I got to talk to Ricky a couple of times when he came to play for the Panthers. He reminded me of like a Matthew McConaughey type, just totally chill. He said Martz was an egomaniac and would talk about some of the crazy things that would come out of his mouth.by Great Bordeni - RamsFootballFans.com
That's the kind of story you hope to hear. Thank you for sharing. I worked with a guy at NASCAR who had worked with Vermeil in television, between the Eagles and Rams stints. He was a HUGE Vermeil fan. When we played the Bucs in NFCC he got the table in front of the biggest TV at a famous restaurant/bar in Daytona Beach and had everyone there pulling for the Rams. Vermeil seems like the kindby Great Bordeni - RamsFootballFans.com
Awesome list Do we have the oldest Super Bowl winning coach?by Great Bordeni - RamsFootballFans.com
I got a job with the Panthers the year after we won the Super Bowl. The game at Carolina was Warner's first game back after his thumb injury. It was like 10 degrees that day. Rams lost 16-3. Totally forgettable game. But before the game I was walking onto the field as Warner was coming off. He looked right at me, smiled, and said "How's it going?" I've met Jimmy Carter, every NASCARby Great Bordeni - RamsFootballFans.com

Ron Brown, I know, but who else?by Great Bordeni - RamsFootballFans.com
The holding call on Tom Mack in the 1974 NFC championship game at Minnesota. The rainstorm that washed out the field at home against Minnesota in 1977 The holding call that negated a long run in the most recent SB against New England. Tied at 3, would have put us almost in field goal range.by Great Bordeni - RamsFootballFans.com
In making this list I've realized that almost every team that changed their look, I liked the old look better Mine... Rams....73-99. Sea...The original. Simple. If they were going to change, they could have just made the blue darker and the green lighter. SF...The one from the 80s with the wide stripes on the pants. Don't like the black in the scheme Ariz...The one from the 70s. Mby Great Bordeni - RamsFootballFans.com
The ones we wore when we beat the Titans in the Super Bowl. Loved those. Every away uniform since pales in comparison. As for the home blue....I like the two combos I saw yesterday (blue pants, yellow pants) better than any we have had before. Hate the new helmet, don't mind the logos. Love the colors. Couldn't they have just gradiented the horns a little for the effect they wanted?by Great Bordeni - RamsFootballFans.com
The fact that that game meant so much to McVay told me we have the right coach. I love a coach who believes 9-7 is important, even without making the playoffs. What do you think? Wasted energy or chance to see who would go to battle for him when there's no obvious incentive?by Great Bordeni - RamsFootballFans.com
They get the interception. Up to that point their running game was very effective. Then on first down, he puts the ball in Garrapolo's hands. Garrapolo proceeds to run out of bounds. Then an incomplete pass. So KC gets the ball back with about a minute off the clock. Didn't you learn from 28-3?by Great Bordeni - RamsFootballFans.com
Didn't blow a 10-point lead with the ball in the final eight minutes. You bust your hump to get to the Super Bowl. If you get beat, you get beat. If you have it in your hands and blow it, different story.by Great Bordeni - RamsFootballFans.com
Why not? They could suffer a hangover for years over that one. Look what's happened to Atlanta.by Great Bordeni - RamsFootballFans.com
