Quotealyoshamucci I think he's a special circumstance. He's a top 20 prospect but hat are you going to do with him? I feel like 5 tech who moves all over is the jam. That's not going to be too many teams. So I expect him to last until end of the first, top of the second. Well interestingly enough I don't know where he's going to slate but I do feel like we need a 5T. We have 3T covereby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Is when Snead trades out of the first round they're at a nice place to get hammered. :thumbsupby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Quotealyoshamucci I'd say the same. Most of what I'm seeing is "consensus" placements... He's not going out on any limbs for anyone except maybe Cooper Dejean. And that's mild. My top 10 right now Harrison Williams Fashanu Nabers Maye Latu Odunze Newton Alt Mitchell Saw a segment on ESPN in passing where he mentioned he's pretty high on the Mizzou kid.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteCoy Bacon You know, you'd think they'd figured that out by now. I hope that our FO is smart enough to re-sign both of these guys. Would be to draft a LT. If they can hit on the pick, which of course is no given, then you can move Jackson to RG and maybe find a way to pay him at some point this season. Then you'll have your money on the right side of the line but that's ok given theby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Every season it seems the Rams start slow due to their OL. Even our SB season that was the case, they got hot as the year went on. Sure would be nice to see them actually ENTER the season with an intact line that is ready to go so they can chase a #1 seed. If you're patching that line together for the first six weeks you can kiss that top seed goodbye.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Quotealyoshamucci I know it sounds crazy, but that capital needs to be spent elsewhere. Especially since the prospects that will make pick 100 are worth it. Dotson is a monster, Avila is a monster, we don't need another brick wall there as much as we need a CB, DT, or WR. I agree. IF they go OL at 19 it has to be a LT. At least take a shot on the LT. Some of these guys might start outby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteRidgewood Ram Jackson isn’t moving to RG as long as the FO is serious about signing Dotson. It’s RG and RG only for Dotson. Me: Sign Jackson to a 3 year reasonable deal. Resign Dotson. Draft a LT and OC and let Noteboom walk. Seems to me that if they were trying to get him done we'd hear rumors by now. So he is likely to hit the market and from there... Not a good chance to lock hby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Quoteden-the-coach The hire will be internal and I believe it will be former Ram Nick Sorenson. Yeah it would seem much of the interview would be focused on Staley's ability to scheme around the existing players, but if he is as intelligent as the Rams rumors have claimed I imagine he'd be willing to dive into a change in fronts and adjust accordingly. In other words I agree they are not switcby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteRockRam This kid answers the bell. He is still developing. He is doing a good job. No, he's not an All-Pro and it is unlikely that he will be. My response to that is....so what? You can't have a line up of stars because the salary cap is meant to prevent that except perhaps for a single "all-in" season. I would be happy to see Jackson sign a 3 year deal, allowing him to haveby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Quoteoldschoolramfan Perfect scenario for me, wake me up because I'm dreaming. Yes I'd be very happy with that FA period. Howard comes with questions but should be relatively affordable after last season and maybe can bounce back with us. If the Rams go get him I'm good with it. And the other two... :thumbsupby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Quoteoldschoolramfan Sooooooooo, Whiners will try to get Rams ex-DC to coach their defense.....Hahahahaha. I don't like it at all. I think he'd be a very strong coordinator pairing with Ratboy.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Fun read and I love Mitchell at the top. I think he'd be a day one impact player for us. I've been trying to kick around who the impact types are of late. Who are the guys who potentially have the highest impact on our team overall if we were to take them at the top. I expect this is going to be a big part of the decision. If true this means QB is out for example. Also to me that eliminatby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Is something that I said before and will say again: it benefits the Rams to act hush-hush on his condition or whatever this is. Because if they were to come out and discuss what it is with the press then the inevitable next question would be asked. "How did you miss that." And yes we all know this draft was fantastic. It really was. Nobody bats a thousand and all that. But you cby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Shula has another experienced defensive resource there if he needs it. If he can dynamically tie these guys all together as a leader he should have a good chance to succeed. It will still come down to his own ability to ensure defensive gameplans are up to snuff and all that. But it sure does help to have quality under you. I always say that as a leader you are only as good as the leaders youby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
So over it. If he and the team want to act like whatever his issue is requires state secrecy do what you have to do. But far as I'm concerned he's a write off. And I could care less about him since he wasn't capable of living up to the responsibilities the team paid him to perform. Is it mental illness. Is it alcoholism or some other dependency. Is it some other dark and mysterious BS. Wby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteRockRam Keeping Tutu makes no sense. He is clearly our #4 WR at best. He can't return punts. He can't play any role on ST's. He would be a downgrade at WR3 should one of the starting 3 go down. How the Rams feel about Tutu had as much to do with resigning Robinson for $5mil as it did how good they feel about Robinson. So, at WR4 with no STs role his main job to warm a bench. If the Rams take him we're going to need him focused in on taking our defense to a better place. I don't want to see any starter that is important for offense or defense out there taking shots on returns. It is high time the Rams use one of those countless late rounders they end up with to draft a returner. Beyond time actually. Way beyond.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteSpeed_Kills Especially the $ This guy came on and gave a OBJ type performance down the stretch Hes a veteran and this doesn’t mean they don’t draft a WR they can develop...I’d trade Tutu tho I loved the chemistry Robinson had with Stafford ... Robinson took over for Tutu in that second Hawks game and never looked back! Yeah it's a solid move. I'm surprised, figured he'd want toby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
I don't think he's our kind of mentally focused player. The type who excel under McVay. He has terrible lapses at key moments that would bug the crap out of me.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Goal would be to identify a reclamation project that is not currently appreciated. A year ago at this time Minshew was one of those. This year he is appreciated because he showed what he can do for Indy. He is still flawed, but the wins mean he's going to be pricey. Pricier than what he should be for that role IMO. With a coach like McVay the goal should always be to have a reclamation proby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
He is a buy-low type FA at the Edge spot. Situational rusher that lessens need at the position but leaves it open if a top option falls to us at 19. In college he was a good all around backer, could play off and in space a bit without looking like a fish out of water. I think he's a fit. The other situational rusher is the Jets kid. But he's coming off a better year. Have a feeling Uche wby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
If it was me I would use FA to finish the offense so the only thing I need in this draft from that side of the ball is a prospect who can be a long term backup QB. My favorite candidate for that role is Hartman, because he will be available until the late rounds. He struggled during Senior Bowl week and is limited in his arm talent but the dude has a ton of experience as a QB and I expect wilby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
I will say I am concerned he might make a stink about going into the season as the starting LT being paid what he'll be paid. Hope not of course and he's said nothing about that nor have there been rumors. But any time a player has vastly outplayed his contract that is a concern. Oh and also if the Rams don't tender him aggressively enough they could lose him potentially.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Player I'd really like in round 2 is Nubin. I think he has potential to be great in the NFL, could be one of those round 2 guys who you catch lightning with. Hoping he runs slow so we'll have a shot at him into round 3.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Just compared to some other positions it feels like corners have strong quality slotted in that 20-35 range, depending on what big board you look at of course, but it's a recurring theme. Of course you never know because a surprise pick up high or run on one position can change everything and how guys go off which is what is so fascinating about the draft. But I'd also be happy with Mitchellby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Even the first round list 4 of 6 were misses. But the recent picks... Not good at all, with 6 of 8 misses and that's pulling McClendon out due to not showing enough yet. I don't know that I trust these guys to take an OT. Don't get me wrong of course if they do I'll hope and root for him but... Maybe we should just take someone we're sure of up top. Or most sure of. :thumbsupby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
We don't know how the roster will look, so it's kind of nuts to just say this team or that team will win the division. But, hey, it's Cowherd. He'll have a new prediction in 20 minutes. :ROTFby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Is twofold I think... First as pointed out above Jackson of course was a solid LT for us last season, so the need is there though it is not profound. And secondly a LT would need to fall to us who they love, otherwise the impact he would have on our offense is likely going to be lesser than a WR which is a position that should be well represented. Same goes for corner or edge as well, where hiby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
That site is basically fan-post-level articles being sold to the ignorant masses as a team information site. But they get traffic so idk maybe I'm just an angry old man. Either way Brees was a completely different QB. Brees lived in the pocket, was not a threat on the ground nor was he an athlete. Brees could win from the pocket in spite of his small stature as well, which is a rare talentby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Quotegatoramos He played well on a contract year. Before that, not so much. You would have to feel really good about knowing who he is as an individual and if he has the drive to play at the same high level he showed this year to sign him to a large contract. And this is over the course of his first contract, is that he's a good pass blocker. He can handle power rushers because he's strongby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
