Once I had all 8 seasons I ended up watching all the color episodes of seasons 6-8. They're not bad, but just not nearly as good as the Barney years. Barney does appear in 6 of the episodes from after he left the show. Those are definitely worth seeing.

Don Knotts was on for 5 seasons. Those were the black and white episodes. The show wasn't the same after he left. He was the real star of the show. One of the good things about YouTube TV (besides the price) is you have unlimited recording. You set it to record a series and you'll get every episode.
