Rams often draft players to fill in starting on the second year in the league. Spot duty, rotation piece year one, then start in year two or three especially for the later round picks. We have multiple 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th rounders who earned nice second contracts. My question to the board is this primarily due to good scouting or good coaching up the talent we bring in. It was not 7.1 million. The 3.5 roster bonus was due on Sunday and the trade was not official until a few day after so the bonus money counts for the rams. We only got 3.6 million in cap space for 2022.by The Professor - RamsFootballFans.com
Noteboom, Allen, Haverstein, Higbee, and Donald.by The Professor - RamsFootballFans.com
We could have kept Woods and then get a 5th round comp pick in 2023 from Von Miller leaving. Instead we get Robinson and a 6th in 2023 + 8 million in dead cap space. So worse draft compensation and 8 million dead cap space for the Woods to Robinson trade. Woods coming off ACL but Robinson had injury issues last year to. Robinson is 16 months younger so there is that. I however would prefer Kupp,by The Professor - RamsFootballFans.com
I am a Woods fan. He did have some drops last year but he was one of key pieces of the rams under McVay. I have never thought that highly of Robinson (at least I always felt he was overrated in fantasy football - which I know does not translate to what a player's value on the field is). In 2017 camp, you could just see how good he and Kupp were and that things were about to change. I am happy forby The Professor - RamsFootballFans.com
Yes all day 3. Need to be a 3 for day 2. No shot at that.by The Professor - RamsFootballFans.com
I doubt we win without him.by The Professor - RamsFootballFans.com
The only trades that really fit are those where we basically rented players for 2021 only. That would be Miller for a 2022 2 and 3 and Michel for a 2022 6 a 2023 4. Miller left for Buffalo and the Rams will recoup a 2023 5. Unless the Rams sign a free agent that counts as a cancellation who makes more that runs around 5 or 6 million a year, when Michel leaves he will not bring a draft pick backby The Professor - RamsFootballFans.com
Three 5s Miller as a 10 year vet max compensation is a 5, Williams, and Corbett and a 6 for SJD.by The Professor - RamsFootballFans.com
Currently Williams at the high end of the 5th comp picks (top pick with under 10 years of playing time), Corbett at the bottom end of the 5th comp picks, and SJD at the high end of the 6th comp picks. Unlikely that Obo qualifies. Maybe Mundt does (needs to get at least 2.8 million yr to be at the bottom of the 7ths). However, only 32 picks awarded so being at 32 now may not make the cut later on.by The Professor - RamsFootballFans.com
According to spotrac (more up to date than overthecap), the Rams were over 8.2 mill over the cap. Howard getting a 2.5 million offer, the Rams are then 10.7 million over. Saving 12 million from Floyd (which I think is a bad move capwise for the future) sounds like Rams would get under the cap. However, spotrac does not include the Allen and Shelton deals. So the Rams would be 1.3 under + 1.65 morby The Professor - RamsFootballFans.com
Terms not released yet. Hope it is at least 4 million. That was the bottom of the 6s last year. It would not be a 6 this year. Three million may be the cut point for a comp pick.by The Professor - RamsFootballFans.com
So the rams are likely 9 million or so under. Extending Staffold can erase that hole but there is still work to be done to get to the cap. Any signings beyond that will also mean more space needed to be cleared.by The Professor - RamsFootballFans.com
More to get under the cap.by The Professor - RamsFootballFans.com

We are now the team the team with the furthest to go to get out of negative cap space, over 20 million prior to Noteboom's signing. Expect news on Big Whit, Stafford and likely Donald in the next two days.by The Professor - RamsFootballFans.com
13 million a year more than I expected.by The Professor - RamsFootballFans.com
Can go up to 47 million. From NFL channel.by The Professor - RamsFootballFans.com
I looked at the offensive DOVA from football outsiders (I am not a member so can only see ranks not actual values) and we played an easier schedule in the first half of the season. I am only going off of the end of season values so these rankings mat not be reflective of the teams DOVA rankings at the time we played them. In the first half of the season we faced Chicago 26th, Indi 13th, TB 1st,by The Professor - RamsFootballFans.com

It is about 2.4 million for right of matching other offers or just under 4 million for a second round pick in comp. A 2.4 cap hit for next year would put him at #15 on the current roster. That will obviously drop after signing some FAs (including other RFAs Gay and Shelton). One assumes some of the other UFAs Von Miller, OBJ, Noteboom, Corbett, etc. will come in at a higher 2022 cap hit as well.by The Professor - RamsFootballFans.com
With the Rich Hill trade value chart, the Rams gave up picks 62 (80 points) and 93 (39 points) for a total of 119 points. The chargers gave up pick 48 (120 points) plus an equivalent of a 7th (2 points) for 122 points. Please note that 7th round picks range from 3 to 1 points. I assume the chargers do not finish in the bottom 8 teams so that removes the 3 and only the SB teams' picks are worth 1by The Professor - RamsFootballFans.com
I said he is due approx. 23 million a year for the next two years. That was incorrect he costs 17.5 for 22 and then in 23 and 24 it is about 23 million a year. A little less in 23 and a little more in 24.by The Professor - RamsFootballFans.com
Keep in mind that when the rams made the trade to get Von Miller, neither team knew what pick in the round the rams would be giving up. It could easily be assumed that the rams were likely to make the playoffs as the rams were 7-1 at the time so it was likely in the 20s to 30s. As it turned out, the pick ended up as the 32nd pick (worst possible return for Denver). When the Mack trade was conductby The Professor - RamsFootballFans.com

Fowler, Littleton and Safford have all been cut by their teams so far this offseason. Suh, Joyner, Malcolm Brown and Blythe are UFAs. Only Saffold and Suh have played well after leaving the rams. Saffold has been declining over time according to PFF and I am sure they are not interested in Suh. Running the 18 team back also means holding onto Allen, Obo, Noteboom, and Joseph. Unlikely any ofby The Professor - RamsFootballFans.com
I have attached what I think the rams depth chart looks like now. I went with Ourlads Rams 22 depth chart and a) eliminated free agents (but I kept Wolford as he is a ERFA and can only sign with the Rams) and b) tried to place the players on IR where I think they belong. I did not try to attend to LWR, RWR, SWR when moving the WRs around. I also left their format of 4 LBs but added a CB. The tablby The Professor - RamsFootballFans.com
A return to his old team can make sense or he can stay in LA and go to the Chargers. Both of those teams can probably pay more than the rams. So if money is an issue, it is a question of how much of a discount will he take.by The Professor - RamsFootballFans.com
