Boy do I miss the pessimism...not! This article didn't age well. But that's normal when someone who only knows what he reads and then offers criticism before they have so much as a conversation about their writing with the person the subject in question. QuoteOld Goat This kinda reminds me of another poster that has been constantly admonishing how expectations should be managed for the season. Duly noted. I expect them to win this game. If they don't, it will be no different than any other playoff loss. I'll be pretty disappointed. Just like many posters here are still upset about playoff losses to the Vikings back in the 70s, how the sby Leoram - RamsFootballFans.com
the Lions beat the Rams this weekend? Personally, I consider this year a win already but can't help thinking something magical is happening. I really want to see how far it can go. In reality, I would be greatly disappointed but still feel prouder of this team than most years I've loved this team as a fan. I realize most of us don't even want to consider the possibility. The last two years of Staley's defense getting regularly exploited is proof enough he doesn't have answers...because he had the talent. Again, I love Henderson but what makes him a better coordinator than Pleasant? He may be great w DLine technique and effort, but can he coordinate the back end? Staley failed to find answers to how offenses would attack his system. Now, if he gets the chance to redirect his thinking to new innovations...perhaps. Personally, as much as he could add a valuable voice, Pleasant is the guy I have narrowly inching out Hendo for schematic reasons. As much as Hendo deserves a promotion, what he does so very well works best with that particular room. I want aby Leoram - RamsFootballFans.com
So the metrics say the Rams are a middling team. What it doesn't say is how the metrics for the Rams changed throughout the season. These are all helpful statistics and I'm grateful they are made available to us. The problem with Kupp earlier in the year had more to do with he and Matthew still tweaking the rules in the option routes as teams have learned some of the tendencies. Since then, yes, he's not seperating as well because his elite quickness has been diminished so his body isn't always responding as it was before and he has to adjust how he runs his routes. When you first see Puka Nacua on national TV, there's a high probability the man is smiling. You keep watching and notice the next time you see him, he's smiling again. There used to be a Rams team that had a great coach who had built a good culture but with a team that was struggling to win football games. The roster had a few Pro Bowl types that had just flown under the radar on a bad team. The coach looked inside and realized he couldn't get better results with the same solutions. So he decided to rebuild the entire offense in a new image. The idea was to takby Leoram - RamsFootballFans.com

QuoteOld Goat QuoteCarolinaRam I thought after the Baltimore game he would settle down but he is so inconsistent from 40 out. McVay has got a tough decision. Would Crosby consider coming back after we cut him after a week? That's my biggest worry, that Mason tells us to go kick rocks. Crosby lost the weeklong kicking contest. He would blame nobody but himself because he's a true professional.by Leoram - RamsFootballFans.com
Having played with Mahomes and Lamar his pro career meant he had to learn scramble drills and actually need them in games. This adds an element to the offense predicated on timing in those moments when Stafford can extend a play beyond its design. The best part is that Matthew also trusts him with the timing routes now.by Leoram - RamsFootballFans.com
The first great debate I remember here was Warner v Bulger. Later it was the great Bradford/Suh draft. Most recently, the Goff/Wentz debate ruled the board (I thought Wentz was a better fit for a Fisher offense). I agree for only one reason. Losing this game would destroy all the hope and belief this team has recently built. Stumbling now would have lasting consequences. Sure, McVay will talk about resilience but the reality is...you play better when you honestly believe and it's exponentially harder to do so when you don't do your best when the best is required. One of the most effective ways for a QB to manipulate a defense is by looking one direction with your helmet to get the DB or LB to drift in that direction. Due to the Ram's unique helmet design, it's my contention that the direction of the QB's helmet is more recognizable than the competition.
