I live 2 hours from Champaign IL. I am a huge Illinois fan even though they just fall short every year. But DL Newton is a beast and I think he would be an enormous addition to our defense. He has the motor as well as the instincts to shut things down. Watched him all last year. He is a beast. He would be great with Kobie for sure.by illini_ram - RamsFootballFans.com
I love the Illinois DT Newton. Watched Illinois all last year. Heby illini_ram - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteStafford9 Do not say age gentlemen, he has not been used. He is a physical freak who excels as a rotating running back. He is 6'2" and 230 and on a good day run under 4.4. A great alternating back with K Williams. I would have to agree. However, we could also find a great back in the draft. Cordarrele would be interesting.by illini_ram - RamsFootballFans.com
Quoteoldschoolramfan They watch enough film from the seachickens to know what they want in a TE.....Plus, Ram players also know he can block because they played against him. He's Higbee's twin......Blocks great and catches the ball when it comes his way. Agreed, and hopefully with his height he make a difference if the red zone.by illini_ram - RamsFootballFans.com

QuoteRidgewood Ram Kupp was effective last season while not fully healthy. He’s still a valuable threat. Not ready to pull the plug on him. I feel the same way. Kupp is not done yet in my opinion. He is a warrior and still very valuable. He is not done. He is way too young and too tough for that. Just wait and seeby illini_ram - RamsFootballFans.com

QuoteJamesJM And more than that - - - - - do you not still get chills, and probably a little teary-eyed when you see or even read anything about that season. It was, IMHO, the most magnificent year for being on this board. From the first game - "Uhhhh, they looked good to me. Is that for real?" - - "Don't get excited.... we'll see over the next few games" Post Gameby illini_ram - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteOld Goat Purdy had no business being in MVP consideration. He's good, but nowhere near great. When the play breaks down, he breaks down with it. He's nowhere near Josh Allen's ability. Amen to thatby illini_ram - RamsFootballFans.com

I think that that smaller tight jerseys came with the advent of smaller shoulder pads. Man, I remember when I played HS Football, I was 5 foot 8 inches and 135 pounds lol. I was the fastest guy on the team without pads. I ran a 4.6 40 and that was fast in 1979. But we had these ginormous shoulder pads that weight about 8 fricken pounds, hip pads, butt crack pad, huge knee pads. It was crazy lol.by illini_ram - RamsFootballFans.com
Quotemtramfan Alcohol rehab doesn't take this long typically. My sense is that the drinking episodes were the tip of an unseen iceberg, formed from childhood on the obsessively heightened expectations of parents who drove him, drove him from age nine, to become what he has become. Stetson got lost - or crushed - in the process. Read the old book by baseball player Jimmy Piersall, "Fear Sby illini_ram - RamsFootballFans.com
