Could not agree more. Need outside pass rush help, a sideline to sideline LB to go with Jones, more depth in the backfield and DT. O-line is set up, as is QB and WR and TE. Could use a big , bruising rb later in the draft plus a kicker. But defense has to be the name of the game in the early draft rounds. Should Witherspoon not find a new team soon the Rams might have a chance to bring him backby dodgerram - RamsFootballFans.com
Everyone here has high praise for him. But its a fact the Rams have to do something about their interior D-line and pass rush overall. Go Rams!!!!!!by dodgerram - RamsFootballFans.com
Good, good post. Agree on Sweat. I want this guy with our 2nd round pick badly. Welcome back! Go Rams!!!!!!!!!!!by dodgerram - RamsFootballFans.com
Take him in the 2nd round after you (hopefully) got your edge in the first round. Sweat is such a unique player with his physical attributes who looks and plays like the proverbial immovable object. We need that huge body in the middle of the line to especially contain McCaffery . Young man is top run stopper plus he provides some pressure up the middle. We need that with the loss of AD. If weby dodgerram - RamsFootballFans.com
What can you do wrong bringing in him for a low pick ? there will be no draftee in the 7th round with more talent. Still a very young man with lots of talent. McVay might get him going in the right direction. Low risk, high reward. Should make moves like that without hesitance. Go Rams!!!!!!!!!!by dodgerram - RamsFootballFans.com
Go RAms!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1by dodgerram - RamsFootballFans.com
I would be happy with this draft class. What would make me even more happier is if the RAms could get DT Sweat in the 2nd round. IMHO he would be excaltly what we need as a piece to our new D after AD retirement. An excellent run stopper who also can provide a pass rush up the middle. Go Rams!!!!!!!1by dodgerram - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteRockRam And, no you didn't say "replace". So, I didn't meant to put words in your mouth, as much as I meant to say what the approach ought to be for dealing with ADs loss. And, I think the Moneyball approach is precisely what the Rams are doing. The moneyball approach for sure is the way to go after AD retirement. I agree with this 100%. However I fear the Rams have narrowed thiby dodgerram - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteRockRam Did you ever watch Moneyball? I think there are lessons there about how you replace a great player. First, you won't ever replace AD. Rather, you have to find a way in the aggregate to replace his stats. QB pressures, sacks, TFLs, etc. There is no single player other than someone like Jones or Wilkins that could even come close, and they won't...by themselves... replace those staby dodgerram - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteRamsDynasty Just logged onto a computer at work and saw a Mock after the first week of FA (by some Sports Unlimited whatever). It only featured the first 16 picks but what I found fascinating in regards to the Rams is that they didn't have the first defensive player coming off the board until pick #13. Now I know #13 isn't #19 however if that form were to hold it wouldn't take much for the Rby dodgerram - RamsFootballFans.com
Hard to understand to be honest. Do they really think and hope to fill their glaring pass rush need in the draft alone ? That is taking a huge, huge risk IMHO. First of all it is not a sure thing they get the right man and secondly rookies usually to not contribute right out of the gate. If I was in charge I definetely would have gone all out after one of the proven pass rushers in free agencby dodgerram - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteRams43 Why do I say that? Well, Rams knew about AD’s pending retirement and still refused to jump on expensive stud edge players in FA. That is very telling and can only mean that they prefer a different strategy. I think it’s the draft for low cost and long term solution. To pursue that strategy they must be convinced that one of the stud Edge players will be there at 19 OR they inby dodgerram - RamsFootballFans.com
Can not believe it. Absolutely unbelievable. Great trade for the Steelmen. Wish the Rams would have made that trade. No wonder there is no market for Wentz. Go RAms!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!by dodgerram - RamsFootballFans.com
Sign either Chase Young or Clowney. Draft an edge rusher with our 1st round pick, move up a little bit if you want a specific guy. Use the 2nd round pick on the huge DT Sweat. Guy can and will stop the run and can provide some pressure up the middle. Draft a CB in the third round and a sideline to sideline LB with the other 3rd rounder. In the later rounds draft BPA including a kicker plus aby dodgerram - RamsFootballFans.com
my feelings exactly too. Go Rams!!!!!!!!!!!!!by dodgerram - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteSpeed_Kills I love the guy as a football players but ADs motivation more than anything is $$ I have little doubt he wanted the Rams to rip up that contract and give him a new one AGAIN And they said no .... and he retired end of story The more I hear and listen how this plot played out I believe you are spot on. Go Rams!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!by dodgerram - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteLaDoc This ALSO makes a QB higher priority NOW. (Since it is unlikely they will draft this high soon and Stafford not going to stay long.) they can get Dlineman lower in draft than QB. My wife is friends with ADs wife. I know they like McCarthy (michigan) and he has been working out in South Cal here with lots eyes on him. You need all your draft resources now to offset the loss of ADby dodgerram - RamsFootballFans.com
If Over the cap is right and it saves us only 1.92 million this year why not just let the contract run out after 2024 and get rid of the contract for 2025? Go RAms!!!!!!!!!by dodgerram - RamsFootballFans.com
And obviously the cap relief will be only minimal. Tough situation. Go Rams!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!by dodgerram - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteNewMexicoRam I've never forget that last tackle in SB 56. "Aaron Donald is going to make a play!" That play for me is on the same level as THE TACKLE. I remember how elated I was , realizing we just won the Super Bowl. Thank you Aaron Donald! Go Rams!!!!!!!!!!by dodgerram - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteCROMWELL21 No. His retirement doesn't change much That is tough to understand. A player retires and the team still owes him the money he signed for ? Go Rams!!!!!!!!!!!by dodgerram - RamsFootballFans.com
Would be my choice if he is there in the 2nd round. Go rAms!!!!!!!!by dodgerram - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteLeoram Restructure and retire? How does that work? and how does that affect our cap ? Go RAms!!!!!!!by dodgerram - RamsFootballFans.com
Wow, that changes everything for the Rams chances for another SB run. Why now and not when they could have moves in free agency to compensate for this ? Go Rams!!!!!!!!!!1by dodgerram - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteRams43 I am hoping for no trade up. I. If we have to trade up to get a specific player in the first round I would prefer to trade up with a 2025 pick. A future 2nd rounder should move us up around Nr. 10-12 overall. At that position the Rams would have all kind of options for a true blue chip prospect. Go Rams!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!by dodgerram - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteSpeed_Kills what do those mean? and does that mean something else is in the works? Rams had to do something because accoding to Ellenbogen on his last video the Rams were over the cap (when you included the costs of signing the draft class). What I would like to see: Draft one of those edge defenders with the Nr.19, in the second round I go after Tondrae Sweat, the huge DT and then inby dodgerram - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteSpeed_Kills I like what they have done and I think they been mostly frugal while still improving the team still a long way to go Yes, some way to go. Draft has to break in our favor to fill all the glaring holes on D (edge, cb and another ILB to g along with Jones). I have looked at some recent mock drafts after the first wave of free agency and in most of them either one of the edgesby dodgerram - RamsFootballFans.com

Very good info! Rams should be in good cap shape next year again.Even if they make some restructuring for 2024. Go Rams!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!by dodgerram - RamsFootballFans.com
Never wanted him in horns, just too injury prone. I am warming up more and more to Clowney. Go Rams!!!!!!!!!by dodgerram - RamsFootballFans.com
