I think you can look at the defense and see a bunch of question marks right now. We will have a bunch of unknown players in the rotation and some who have a bit of experience and the experience isn't all good. You never know how much improvement you will see with young guys. We are all down on Kendricks and many on Bobby Brown but who is to say they won't step up. I think this preseason wby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com

Just understanding how to call a play and then know what is supposed to happen once you call it seems really complicated. These guys need to process it instantly while surveilling the defense to seek if the play is and if it is right where to go with the ball. In a complicated offense with lots of options off of each play this must be very difficult especially for a rookie QB. Then once yoby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteLMU93 I liked Goff a lot overall. Still do, and I'm glad to see him succeeding in Detroit. He's one of the reasons they are favored to win the NFC North this year. But you're right. He had two very good seasons (2017 and 2018). McVay knew how to play to Goff's strengths. But give the kid credit. He was not just a "system QB." He was a very good QB those two years- a 101 QB ratiby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
I always look forward to Jourdan's articles. She is the main reason I subscribe to the Athletic as the writers for the Dodgers and Lakers are just okay. Not sure what anyone was expecting her to report on. Rams had a presser and said blah, blah, Blah. No news scoops there. She threw out a few tidbits but that's all she had, crumbs for the hungry. Anyway I find her to be very knowledby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Goff had 2 really great seasons then went into the dumpster. Relationship issues between McVay & Goff seemed to be at the heart of the matter. What is unfortunate is that the Rams didn't get the best out of Goff and had to trade him when his value was in the basement. I think in the heat of the situation they may have lost sight of the absolute need to make the QB successful above all elsby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Needing the CB to have breakout years is a no brainer as other than 1 draft pick we don't have anyone else who will be starting. If they don't break out is till be a UDFA or minimum FA picked of waivers. We will be counting on rookies and low round draft picks or UDFA from the previous year for the most part. If our defense is even middle of the road it will be a huge accomplishment.by David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteRams43 You can take that to the bank. I predict that Tomlinson will be Rams best CB from Day One. There, I said it. Kendrick might struggle to make the 53, tbh. Why didn't the Rams draft a CB higher up in the draft? Just about everyone on this board is scratching their heads wondering why, especially when it was a good year for CBs. Could it be that the Rams are much more bulby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Out of all the old guys who were great in their day only Jim Brown stands head and shoulders above any running back who ever played. Great man too and not a bad actor.by David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com

QuoteRamsdude QuoteRams43 QuoteRamsdude Interesting thoughts from oldnotdead. :thumbsup I wonder how he feels about Morris's ability to "coach up" these new young guns or his ability or willingness to come up with a better scheme than the Charmin Shell? Inquiring minds want to know! :peace Don’t go there, dude! His views gaven;t changed and we don’t want to start a prairie fire.by David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Not sure of the logic here. The offensive design is not the responsibility of the QB thought they may have input. The game plan isn't done by the QB. Blocking and blocking schemes are not the QB. Quality of OLine and RB is not the QB. Play calling is not the QB. I don't think looking at Stafford for a failed running game makes any sense. On the Lions the organization was run by idiotby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
I remember how excited the Rams staff was that they got their guy. On of them actually jumped for joy into the pool. He is big, experienced at a major college and at a minimum will be a RT/G backup. Nothing to say he can't win the RG job outright. I think when they drafted him they thought he would be ready at some point during his first year. He is one to watch in training camp from a hby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Gosh Remember those days when the Rams were totally dysfunctional. Martz started it off by going nuts. Great coach but maybe the worst evaluator of talent ever. The the coaching futility, the drafting futility with the front office and coaching staff not on the same page Remember going years looking for a QB to replace Warner who Martz wrecked for a period of time I used to reallyby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
43 you really took some big chances there with your projections. But I get what you are saying. The roster is wide open and there are lots of young talent vying for jobs and also some young vets that need to step up and prove themselves.by David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
LOT has 2 guys capable of starting but each of them has injuries issues and you have to question if one of them gets hurt will the other be able to finish the season. While we have decent positional flexibility on the line right now I don't know who would be the 3rd LOT. Depending how things go in 2023 LOT looks like it might be a need in 2024. But whether that need is filled by spending preciby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Great find Evans sure looks pretty fast, seems he can break some tackles and has a bit of power. Not sure how long it will take him to get up to speed on pass blocking and not sure how well he does catching the ball out of the backfield but those are challenges that most young backs have when coming into the NFL. I would not be surprised to see him get regular carries at some point durinby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteRams43 QuoteDavid Deacon OL seems like it is coming together. Lots of youth, Big and Strong, Positional Flexibility and potentially good competition at every position except RT. Hope the new coach lets these boys play some smash mouth to get the running game going. I would consider McClendon and Arcturi pretty good competition/depth behind Hav at RT. Puka ran a 4.55 & 4.59 at his pro day which is in the same area as Woods and better than Kupp. It seems that his style of play, being tough to take down and the willingness to take a hit is a trait both Woods and Kupp have. He ought to have a decent RAC and can run the Jet Sweep. At 6'2" he has good size and can go get the ball. Love to see a GPS on this guy to see his field speed.by David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
My guess is that the prices were too high to move up and that they would only move up if they could get a good deal. Rams needed a lot of picks to just fill out the Roster and probably didn't want to mortgage the future by dipping into the 2024 draft and giving away an additional 2nd or 3rd rounder to move up.by David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteRamstien My only real concern is at LT . I just don't believe Noteboom has what it takes to hold up for a whole season and I'm not sure if Jackson is the answer, but for the Rams sake he better be. I don't disagree with you on LT but I do feel good that at least we have 2 guys that can compete for the position that are considered by many to be Starter Quality. Both also have positional flby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
The NFL may have kept the price high but access to NFL ticket is now available to anyone who can stream which is just about everyone now. You don't have to even buy YouTube TV but you get a discount if you do. I don't know about any potential antitrust. Seems the league should be able to maximize their revenue for their product. Still the cost is pretty high but for me in South Carolina iby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com

I think it is pretty clear that the Rams are trying to clean out all of the restructuring from the past and do as much of that as possible this year. The only cavat I would add is that if they are competing at a high level coming into the trade deadline and there is a key piece available that perhaps they would change course. It seems to current course is to get these young players ready toby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
I love this pick and if he was taller he would have been taken in the 1st or 2nd round. Seems this draft we chose older player who were shorter/smaller than the ideal measurement for their position. That said we sure took a lot of guys who could make a lot of good plays on the field.by David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Bennett's size hurts him but when he went on a bender and told the police "do you know who I am" it made many of the media pundits downgrade him. Certainly, the bender and attitude were a bad look but we are also talking about a guy with true leadership attributes. He was the leader on a team that had great individual talent. I think at the end of the day that is what the Rams lookedby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteLMU93 Noteboom is now 6 months removed from his Achilles injury/surgery. He's probably pretty far along in the rehab process but I'm sure still has a ways to go. Let's err on the safe side and say he's not going to be 100% until 10 months out- so that's late August. He might only be able to do individual drills in camp until then. I would start Jackson at LT. He was their best performer aby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Thanks Youngblood great article Gosh this is a guy you can root for. Sounds like he could be used for trick plays and would have a good run after the catch skills. Probably has decent hands and at least has an appreciation for how routes are supposed to be run. He could also serve as the emergency QB if everyone gets injured. Hope this kid can make the practice squad.by David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Another Great writeup. I guess I still don't see why they didn't pick up another CB. I thought CB & Edge were the Number 1 needs and this was a deep CB draft. Other than the CB I agree it was an overall strong draft. Unlike past years I think we will see a few of these rookies get on the field at least on a rotational basis. That should be interesting.by David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
I think there are lots of possible combinations of starters on the offensive line especially with Noteboom still recovering but overall I think the offensive line unit as a whole is petty strong. I think the offense looks solid up and down and I don't see any real holes. Now the defense to me is filled with question marks. Anyway thanks for putting it up for all to see.by David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
