Kelce was targeted 121 times last year and caught 93 of them. He played 16 games so he averaged 5.8 catches a game on 7.6 targets. By comparison Higbee averaged 3 catches on fewer than 5 targets a game last year. In the playoffs Kelce caught 32 passes on 37 targets over 4 games. (So 8 catches on 9 targets each game.) And Kelce was the Chiefs leading receiver in 2023. And 2022. And 2020. Aby AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
To your point: Higbee was targeted 70 times last year, an average of 4.12 targets a game. And it's easy to say that if Bowers is the TE then the Rams will throw to him more than they throw to Higbee. Fair enough. But then someone else (or maybe a couple other guys) will be targeted less. Couple that with the expectation that the Rams might run more and pass less this year with tby AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
Jackson's on a one year deal for $4.89M and will be a free agent next year. The Rams could pick a LT this year with the thought that they can let Jackson sign elsewhere net year (while getting a comp pick in the process), then let their 2nd year LT take over. The new guy would then get a year in the program before starting for three years on a rookie contract. Then the Rams could exerciseby AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com

Still on the board when Schrager mocks Guyton to the Rams: WR Brian Thomas, JR Edge Jared Verse DB Cooper DeJean QB Bo Nix WR Xavier Worthy OT Amarius Mims DL Darius Robinson WR Adonai Mitchell CB Kool-Aid McKinstry I, for one, would be stunned if the draft broke like this and the Rams went with Guyton.by AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
At 6'3", 245 lbs Reeder is the biggest ILB on the roster. On obvious running downs he might be a better choice to pair up with EJones than Hummel (6'1", 235) or Rozenboom (6'2", 230). Beyond that, Reeder had 273 snaps on special teams last year, 5th most on the team. He has 31 starts and has not missed a game in his 5 year career. So far he's been there when called upon.by AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
From the article: "Latu suffered a serious neck injury before the 2020 season and was forced to medically retire." "It’s been two years since Latu’s injury ..." When I do the math I get that it's been 4 years since his injury, not 2. Lmk if I'm missing something ... Latu suffered a neck injury during fall practices entering his sophomore year. It seems like Nike is focusing their attention on people who are most likely to buy stuff rather than people who are the truest fans. I bet that's good for business no matter how much it annoys us traditionalists.by AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com

To your point ... Fitzgerald missed a total of 9 games in his 17 year career. Bolden missed 24 games in his14 year career, only 2 games in his last 4 years. Kupp has missed 24 games in his 7 year career and 13 in the last 2 years alone. That said, I would not bet against Kupp having a comeback-player-of-the-year-type season.by AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteRams43 Here’s dang… No one on this forum knows who the Rams consider elite but I believe below represents a possible list of elite players they would not pass on. I don't buy the initial premise - that if 18 of these guys go in the first 18 picks that the Rams would pick which ever one is left. I could see the Rams picking someone else (or trading down) if the one guy left isn't a scheby AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com

Apples to oranges. Corbett was a 4 year starter at LT in college and made the switch to guard in the NFL. When the Rams tried him out at center he had no prior experience at the position. Avila, OTOH, played both guard and center in college. In fact, he played more snaps at center in college than at guard and received all conference honors as a center while receiving no such recognitionby AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com

There have been numerous references to the Green Bay QB Model on this board and in various publications. Favre-Rodgers-Love is certainly a notable streak of high-level QB play. As a group they are a combined 2-1 in Super Bowls in the 32 years since Favre became the GB starter. The Rams are also 2-2 in Super Bowls over that same timeframe so apparently whatever they are doing is already at leby AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
JG has experience running a scout team. Not sure Wentz does. And apparently JG can simulate a running QB on a scout team: But I don't think Wentz could approximate an accurate passer as well as JG. (Career 62.7% completion rate vs. 67.4) That said, if it's just a matter of the Rams being able to run essentially the same offense if JG has to start a game or two I guess that makes sensby AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
Quote A. So I see a lot of posters and experts doing mocks having Rams trading back accumulating more picks ....I get that in the sense that Snead/McVay era has shown that they have done so in the past and seem to have a good track record of finding that "diamond" in the rough in the in later rds... so all makes sense.. Thinking out loud or I guess my question is in a draft that we alby AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
In an ideal world the QB2 runs the scout team every week and never sees the field in an actual game. In the role of scout QB the QB2 has to simulate what that week's opposing QB does so the defense can prepare for the game. I would bet that JG is significantly more capable of filling that scout QB role for the Rams than Wentz could ever be.by AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
It is quite possible that there's a QB at the top of the Rams' board when they are on the clock when the19th pick comes up. But that doesn't mean the Rams will pick him - even if he is head and shoulders above the next guy on the list. Rather, I expect that the Rams would trade the pick to a team that actually wants a quarterback, and then pick someone who has value for the draft slot they are noby AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com

For the last few years the Rams have used a left safety and a right safety, but this sure sounds like Lake will be a free safety and Curl will be a strong safety. Is this a change in philosophy or am I reading too much into this article?by AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com

The concern might be that he might not be the same player he once was due to these injuries, not that he might be injury prone. They might have both been freak injuries, but the question is: have they diminished his abilities?by AlbaNY_Ram - RamsFootballFans.com
Here's what a hip-drop tackle is: "What's happening on the hip-drop is the defender is encircling tackling the runner and then swinging their weight and falling on the side of their leg, which is their ankle or their knee," Rich McKay, the chairman of the NFL's competition committee, said. Higbee holds the Rams record for receptions by a TE with 72 catches in 2022. He also has second place (69 catches in 2019) and third place (61 catches in 2021). He is also the Rams' career record holder for a TE in receptions (353), yards (3,602) and touchdowns (22). Two things come quickly to mind: First, of all the positions that might be in play at 19 - Edge, DT, WR, CB, QB - the QB is the only one who won't help the Rams win a Super Bowl in the next 3 years.
