I, like most of you, almost blew a gasket when McVay ran the ball on 3rd down and settled for the late FG. Appeared like a TOTAL lack of confidence in Goff and as well as a lack of killer instinct.
However, after watching how the rest of the game played out, it suddenly dawned on me..... McVay KNOWS HIS TEAM far better than any of us and he was supremely confident that his defense WOULD hold once given the lead, even against the Tom Brady
I strongly encourage everyone to reflect on this and not bash McVay for being too conservative down the stretch. He knows his defense is good enough to even stop the GOAT with the game on the line. Well done, Coach!
