we'll I did , no one else will probably care
but this just randomly poped up in my Facebook news feed
\a pilot tells the story how he once outflew a F-18 with his old F-4
[
theaviationgeekclub.com]
the story it's self didn't surprise me any , those old F-4 were bulit for speed...................lol
but what caught my attention , was the picture in the article
when I was in the Navy , the first place I was stationed was Patuxent River Maryland ,, which is a Navel weapons test center
and those planes in the pictures are from Patuxent River Maryland , you can tell by the orange tails
but that F-18 , with the blue on the tail belonged to the Marines , it was the only one the Marines had there , , although they did have a bunch of AV-8B Harrier II there , the Harriers were there for test also , as these new Harrier II's had extended wings compaired to the old British model
but anyways ............
those planes in the picture , are the exact planes I worked on while I was at Patuxent River Maryland
if I had a nickle for every bomb , missile , mine , torpedo, fuel tank , electronic pods / equipment I loaded on those two planes , I'd have ALOT of nickles
