but I never use it, either, because I want to edit my vids and add my logo and dive location and stuff on it..
If he hasn't make sure he goes through some of the options, such as shooting at the highest resolution he can and the fastest frame rate etc.. Makes a big difference in quality of vids, plus if you shoot 4K, you can "crop" the subject matter and export at 1080p, which is 4x smaller, but still HD, and kind of "zoom in" on the subject matter without losing clarity - because you'r enot actually zooming it.. you're cropping the subject..
I got EVERY gopro that came out after the gopro 2.. they kept adding JUST ENOUGH to where I wanted the upgrade.. Now I have gopros out my ears, but I think two version shave come out since my last.. I will look into them, of course, once we book another dive trip..
Only problem I've ever had with gopros is that I think they tend to overheat and shut down.. Not understanding WHY because I'm usually in FREEZING water shooting, except the underwater housing might contain heat.. So, every time I shoot, if the clip goes over a minute, it usually shuts down and I hafta start it up again.. I have LOTS of vids right on the butt of a shark or Spotted eagle Ray and the gopro shuts down, so I hafta crank it back up and then splice the two clips together with a fade, or something.. totally pisses me off..
I thought I spliced this clip together, but didn't see it.. Slowly coming up on a Spotted Eagle Ray, like this, is nearly impossible.. I still don't know why he let me do that - even tho I've done it several times.. This gopro clip was before image stabilization and you can see the camera fluttering becasue I'm going headfirst into current.. So be sure to tell him to always use image stabilization, even tho you lose a tad bit of resolution doing it..
I got so close to this guy his stingers were actually behind my head a bit.. Not the same species that nailed Steve Irwin, but they have venom fill stingers that can potentially kill ya.. Dang I gotta go diving.. and get a new gopro..
Friendship is like peeing your pants.. Everybody can see it, but only you can feel the warmth..
