Speaking of depressing - watched the movie "The Banshee's of Inisherin" (sp?) last night. LOVED En Bruges so when I saw these two actors paired again I HAD to see it.
Ok... how in the HELL do I describe this movie. Well... I think it was brilliant. The dialogue is so good I was in awe. Cinematography outstanding, editing outstanding, acting outstanding, and I can't really say I enjoyed it... nor would I recommend it. My guess is 80% of those who watch it will consider it about as boring as a movie can get.... and they'd have good reason.... sort of.
It's not a comedy... I laughed my ass off. Pretty sure we were meant to laugh... but very ironically. In the end the plot was just too far-fetched for me.... which was probably their intent. Thumbs up, two thumbs up actually, for the effort and most especially the dialogue.... but as for considering it a great movie? I can't do that...
I think it's what I would call a "Critics" film... I have not read any reviews but my guess is that the critics found it life altering phenomenal. I'll have to check on that.. if I find the time. - JamesJM
