he'd get a kick out of me coming in and looking through his order binders and watch me pick out stuff by name or cover only, yeah sometimes it didn't work, but at least to my ears more worked then blew up for me. Best thing was I would be the only guy with the vinyl. He'd also let me have my choice of ad posters when they came due to be replaced by newer albums coming out. I got the In Through the Outdoor Zep with them standing looking out in a field, The Stones Tattoo You, that was a huge poster (size wise) and Stevie Nicks Bella Donna....man what a beauty she was holding that white bird......
Some of the ones I picked up actually became kinda pricey over time, but also over that time moving, taking them down, putting back up.....well they became pretty tattered and worn out......what a pisser, got for free, and enjoyed and at the same time became torn up.
Coulda brought in some bucks and gotten for free woulda made that even better...............I miss those album shops, back there (southern WV) we had 2-3 shops......here in outer Greensboro NC.....nodda, they sell some vinyl at Best Buy electronics, but those are a joke, older albums on brand new pressings....and they cost like 20 or more.......used to have a couple used record shops, but they have since disappeared.
