I would think they'd be as less abrasive as possible to keep cars from binding up together, but I have no idea.. If that's the case, less drag..

But also to consider, he's turning his wheel to take the corner, just using the side rail to keep him on track at a fast speed.. there WILL be resistance and drag, but probably not as much as we would normally expect..
