One game to go ! "There is no tomorrow"
Something few will believe, including my wife, I pay attention to how people "look". During the introductions before the first game at Dodger stadium against the Padres I looked closely and saw a lot of faces, in particular Betts, Turner, Freeman, and Smith, that looked like they were about to sail into the "Perfect Storm". Yes, the barely won that first game but that "look" I can't get out of my mind, The Padres appear to be soooooooo much better than anyone, including the Dodgers, thought they were, This is not the same Padres the Dodgers beat up on all year. Give credos to the GM of the Padres for making those trades at the deadline. And no matter how much we hate Machado you have to agree he is a great player both offensively and defensively.
I really don't think the Dodger layoff, they deserved, helped them at all and maybe was a disservice. The Padres came in not "battle worn" but "battle ready" after the Mets. Dodgers were home sunbathing, hot tubbing, surfing, whatever, thinking we can beat this team because we beat them all year. Soft, soft.
I love the Dodgers and baseball, but its like your wife. You can really love them and at the same time be really disappointed in them and them in you.
BTW: Didn't Dodgers not long ago had the major league MVP in a guy name Cody ? ( a cool place to visit in Wyoming. )
Going to bed after three gin and tonics.
