Because I'm already way too loud to begin with - there's really nowhere to do with it.. What would REALLY piss me off was I'd have stage volume set and monitors the way I want (ear splitting guitar and snare drum ONLY) and the stupid vocalist would go behind my back and tell him to turn my monitor guitar down - just because he didn't feel it was appropriate.. Didn't affect him at all because he never came over to my side of the stage - he just didn't want ME happy..
Yes, I've always made set lists.. there was a period where once we got into the middle of the set, there was wiggle room to move songs around to keep the energy going, but once the drummer and I got the projector screen going and I made custom vids for each song, we were kind of locked into the song order.. I programmed the videos so that the drummer triggered them from a laptop, but he only could trigger the next song - no ability to change whatever song came next..
Its a REALLY cool setup in how it worked, but, yeah, locked in song-wise.. Of course the singer didn't like that either.. With singers its ALL about them.. Most of the singers I've worked with would much rather the band suffer as long as they didn't have to contribute or go out of their way..
Friendship is like peeing your pants.. Everybody can see it, but only you can feel the warmth..
