not wanting you there.. I think its that they might wanna eat you.. or may mistakenly eat you cuz they don't know any better.. Being stalked would not be cool...
I'm not a heights guy, myself.. I'm cool with airplanes, but not cool standing by the edge of cliffs, or anywhere I can look straight down.. I got talked into repelling the cliff at Cayman Brac a few years ago, by my wife.. the repelling part wasn't too bad, cuz by then we were hooked up to safety gear.. the terrifying part was climbing a vertical wall with NO safety equipment.. I had the harness on, but it wasn't attached to anything until I got up to the area where they had the safety stuff to hook up to - probably 200-250 feet.. then I'm CLINGING to the wall like Velcro and the guide tells me, "you hafta push yourself away from the wall so I can hook you up to the safety ropes.."
"I hafta do WHAT?"
"push away from the vertical wall about a foot and a half"
"You're outta your mind!"
"Well, then you'll hafta climb back down"
"Ok, how far do I hafta push away from the rock?"
It was terrifying for a guy like me that doesn't dig heights.. A Fear of Heights simulator was the very first Virtual Reality sim I ever made for the Air Force.. and even after going through that thing 200 times a day for months, in getting it all dialed in, I was still terrified at 250 feet, clinging to a vertical wall, with lava rock underneath me.. Never again..
Friendship is like peeing your pants.. Everybody can see it, but only you can feel the warmth..
