Virgina Patton, RIP....

recognize the name? Probably not... for good reason - she wasn't well known. But maybe you recognize her as:

Ruth Dakin Bailey? Still no? Understandable... but if you answered no to both those names you do know her.

She was the wife of Harry Bailey, George Bailey's brother. With me yet? You should be:

"It's A Wonderful Life".

She was 97.. and to my knowledge the only 'adult' from that movie that was still with us. I believe only one survivor of the movie is still with us now is - Karolyn Grimes.... who played Zuzu, George Bailey's daughter... "Zuzu's Petals"... remember?

As I've written before... knowing some actors and actresses are still around from some of those old classics is comforting to me. Many still are BUT.. they are my age and were children in those old movies... nearly all the adults in the movies I saw as a kid are gone now.

Reading about Virginia's passing today makes this a very sad day. - JamesJM
