yes , it's all about the money , the Big Ten's new contract deal was already expected to be over a billion dollars ,
and............
that was before the news of USC and UCLA
the Big Ten has now added the second largest TV market in the country , which now gives the Big Ten the top 4 TV markets in the country
and I have also read that now both Amazon and Apple want in on the action . so now , the bidding for Big Ten games starts at a billion dollar , and will probably be well over that before it's said and done , with each school in the Big Ten making well over 100 million , per year , thats close to 3 times what USC and UCLA would make in the Pac 12
the Big Ten now covers all 4 time zones , , Big Ten games can now start from 10AM on the East coast to 9PM on the West coast , and every where in between
but........
another driving force in this is also , winning a National Championship
you lose one game in the PAC 12 , and you are done , you have no chance at a National Championship , were as , if you played in the BIG TEN or the SEC , you can still make it to the National Championship game with a lose
National exposure will be huge as well . you'll now be able to watch USC and UCLA games at noon , instead of having to wait till 9 o'clock at night
, so it will help both USC and UCLA , as well as the other BIG TEN schools in recruiting
