Had it done about 4 years ago but we just don't like the configuration. Last time, we put lipstick on a pig. Gonna do it right this time. Our house was built in 1982. The Master Shower has a 8 inch lip you step over before stepping almost a foot+ DOWN?? It's very dangerous. We found that it CAN be reconfigured. What we THOUGHT was part of the foundation is not. Gonna make it a simple walk in shower. I'm HOPING it just being the shower will keep costs down but I have always heard that Shower / Bath re dos and inexpensive are NEVER used in the same sentence. I will say this go round is more about safety than just the looks of it.
Then there's the looming AC!!!! My biggest concern......a HUGE concern...is not so much coughing up the $$$. It's doing all of that and THEN our street neighborhood goes to hell. Had that happen in my old house 23 years ago. It SUCKS to upgrade and make things nice and then a bunch of POS move in the area making it ALL moot!
