I'm no expert on horses but I've been around them my entire life and I've owned several over the years.

I would call that common behavior from a horse... they don't always act that way to be sure but it's far from rare.

I'll have to bow out as to the 'psychological' reason they do that... that's for the experts. I have my theories but that's all they are. - JamesJM
