I first found Uranus and Neptune using my telescope. I felt like Galileo. BUT...

I think the most impressed I was with spotting a heavenly object did not come by telescope.... happened with the naked eye. It was finding the Andromeda Galaxy, which is visible with the naked eye if conditions are right. This happened many, MANY years ago... I think I was in grade school.
