Communism" ended in 1991 under Gorbachev when the hammer and sickle flag came down for the last time and was replaced by a tri-color flag. In 1993 their Constitution declared Russia a democratic, federal law based state with a republic form of government. This of course was aligned with the breakup of the Soviet Union in 91.. In fact the Communist Party was banned by Yeltsin in 1991. They even do have a capitalistic system -albeit a hybrid one- where most enterprises are privately held and operate in an open market condition-however with direct government involvement and in many cases state ownership. The problem is that in reality it is a dictatorship under Putin the X KGB guy. And his goal is a return to super power status-like the US-that was lost with the breakup in 1991. But not a return to what we understood to be "communism".
So we should call them DIX instead (since they follow a dictator)?
Sidebar: The French word "putain" is not pronounced the same as Putin, but... it'll do here. Do you know what it means? It means "@#$%&" "prostitute" "@#$%&" and is pretty much a curse word. Kinda fits, eh?
