I'm with you...

perhaps not as down on all of them, but then like you I haven't seen that many. I liked Guardians of the Galaxy - mostly for the humor and watching with my young grandsons.

I don't get the metal/cgi comparison. That went over my head.

I think CGI will get to the point where it's indistinguishable from reality... not sure where I'll stand when that happens but like you I think right now CGI is the main actor in many movies, not just Sci Fi or Fantasy. I don't like that... give me a good plot.

Here's one of the biggest disappointments in my life. There's a ride in California Adventure called "Soaring Over California". Or was, they may have changed it, not sure. But my point is: Originally it was film. The scenes were extraordinary. They closed the ride down to refurbish it and I was very anxious to see how they had improved it because it was already my favorite ride. The day came.... to my horror they had replaced 'film' with digital, CGI. Most people didn't notice, (it's good CGI), but I did. It was pixelated. I was crushed.
