"a good interview"... in the sense that term is used by the media today that is.
Not long ago I visited an old friend, he was my Dad's age. He was in a home and suffers from dementia. I knew what dementia was but had no experience with it, and so I read a little about it. I began my visit with him by mentioning an old story I had heard my friend tell, many times... both he and his friends. One of those 'legendary' tales from their youth, and vigor. He latched onto it immediately... and ran with it. That tale led to another, then another. I spent a little over an hour with him and his memory of those old stories were more vivid than mine were.
Some of the stories I had heard, many times... and others were new to me. A good reporter can make an interview 'good', as long as it's not really his own story he's actually trying to tell. - JamesJM
