did you ever see the made for TV movie called , The Young Pioneers ?

it was based on a book written by Rose Wilder Lane , the daughter of Laura Ingalls Wilder and Almanzo Wilder

it was a made for TV movie , and I believe it was meant to spin off a new TV series , but it only lasted like 3 episodes

but they did make a second TV movie The Young Pioneers Christmas

it stared Linda Purl , as a very young newlywed , like 15 or 16 years old , and her young husband , from like Pennsylvania head West in the 1870's to South Dakota to take advantage of the USA giving away free land

and all the hardships that came along with it

if you enjoy Little House on the Prairie , I would say this was required viewing ,
