Well said.
This next is in general, I know little of the specifics.
Yesterday before practice a team meeting was held which included the school psychologist. I don't know all of what was said but I assume this was specifically to address the issue you brought up.
I know that the issue of alcohol was discussed at this meeting; and I would imagine because it was unavoidable. The coaches impairment on Monday was extremely noticeable... this according to many I have heard speak about it... both players and asst. coaches.
After practice I spoke with my grandson about it - but he's not the 'talkative' type.
He's always like that, not just this incident. He is greatly relieved by the removal of the HC. At the Monday practice he and his WR's wanted to work on some changes but the coach called practice 45 minutes early... the time when that part of the game would have normally been worked on. After yesterday's practice, (without the HC), his mood and attitude was noticeably improved.
Some of the Sr's are calling a special meeting, (only players... mostly Sr's but a few Jr's who are starters and key players) with the goal of making their last two games their best efforts of the year.
All in all... good for everyone, including the HC should he follow thru and seek help. - JamesJM
