but first.... the hand eye coordination in Ping Pong astounds me. I'd bet good money I could more easily hit a 100mph fastball with movement than return those Ping Pong slams.
The anecdote: I played fast pitch softball for years, all around the state. We had a local league and I routinely had a .600 to .700 batting average... and I wasn't alone... several others did as well. One day we got to talking fast pitch and the question came up: "What's harder to hit, fast pitch softball or hardball?" Every single person in the debate, except me, answered "Fast Pitch Softball".
So I asked the guy with the best average in our league, around .700, "So then what are you telling me... if you played MLB you'd be batting .800? Wow, you missed out on a lucrative career".
My unassailable logic convinced.... not one of them.
