Working around guys in Fire Stations. In the 80s and well into the 90s, Sports Center was a STAPLE on the station TVs! Saturdays and Sundays was football...ALLLLLLLLL day! I used to work with a lot of MLB fans too. LOTS of Braves fans down here. I personally know of about a dozen to 15 guys who went from eating, sleeping, breathing Sports to not watching a second of it. ALL because of Politics and the Social crap. Hell...One fella that followed me from my NAS JAX days to JFRD used to host parties at his house for EVERY Cowboys game. 1-2 times a year, he'd go to Dallas for games. Now? He'll slap you if you mention NFL. The last 15...ESPECIALLY 5-6 years, I have seen a HUUUUUGE drop in interest in Sports. I have not seen ESPN on at ANY station ANY time for the last 4-5 years.
