I saw Cream only once...

I think.... things were a little blurry for me in those days. I only remember seeing them once, in Fresno. March 13, 1968. No, I didn't remember that... I looked it up.

Ginger was rocking the drummer's world at that time.

Debatably, VERY debatably, Ginger was the first, (maybe one of the firsts), to bring the drums to center stage - that is: NON-drummers finally heard and recognized the drums. And when he did it exploded, like over night... suddenly drummers were "cool".

Before Ginger:

I remember, was it Dennis Wilson that was the drummer for the Beach Boys? Anyway... he was very popular but that was more because he was 'pretty'... not so much his drumming, (which wasn't bad, not saying that).
