not the most pleasant way to start a day.
This one was particularly tough... I knew "of" the deceased but didn't know her at all. I may have met her once but if so I don't recall it.
Pretty sure I posted on this board after the last eulogy I delivered stating that "I hope I never have to do another". Didn't turn out that way. And not only that... I was informed that another lady whom I don't know was in hospice with no hope... "Would you mind?"
It's next to impossible to turn down that request, or at least it is for me. Delivering a eulogy has a spiraling effect.. no one wants to deliver a eulogy.... so if you do, even once... your community, family, designates you the official eulogy giver. I've lost count on how many I've delivered... saying the same thing after each, "Please let this be the last". - JamesJM
