Not only do I NOT get building permits but to do so doesn't even cross my mind. Especially something like a dog elevator... that actually requires a permit?
Just went thru a 'permit' problem recently - my sister and I both had solar installed. My sister had added an awning to the back of her home so when the solar company did whatever it is they do to install her solar that awning was flagged as not having a permit. Here's how I dealt with it - - - -
To the solar company, "well, guess we can't put solar then. I'm not getting sucked into that bureaucratic hell hole". Next thing I know they went to work... no idea what they did.... greased palms? Called in favors? Had Vinnie pay them a visit?. Point is the awning permit problem was overcome. I didn't even have to sign anything.
Thinking of putting in a commercial size ice maker... it will require some plumbing work.... wonder if that requires a permit? Ah well, no matter... required or not I won't. - JamesJM
