Cattle when being fed out on the ranch learn quickly to come to the sound of a vehicle, expecting food. I go to my ranch often for astronomy reasons, also watching wildlife, maybe reading a book.... I usually pick the top of a hill sometimes on the dirt road sometimes off. It can be hard to sleep at night...
All night you'll be laying in your sleeping bag and you'll hear noises all around you, quiet noises, no moo'ing.... then awake to find yourself surrounded by cattle expecting breakfast. It's a little weird to wake up and look at to see 100 cows all staring at you as if you had enough hay for all of them in your pockets.
